Let's be honest, except Sam and AJ there is not one of the remaining 2014 GF team worth feeding.
For mine it should be adios amigo to Inglis"he's never going to be worth the money he's on again",Sutton"way past he's used by date"Reynolds"kicking game has disappeared, besides goal kicking offers nothing else",Turner & Clark, offer nothing in aggression, off loads, tackle busts, line breaks etc, etc",George & Thomas,"where do you start"I have never seen 2 big units like this pair with less ticker and skills in my life.
Tyrrell is one bright light"he's leaving"!
So gentleman that still leaves us with 7 of the most experienced players in our roster"not worth a cracker"!
And our Managent"have wrapped themselves up in a cocoon, with their heads up their arse"!

Mate I've been trying to say this forever. 2014 squad needs to go. These young kids are just better in every single way. In every 3,2,1 it's either Sam, AJ, Crichton or one of the young kids. Our 2014 players aren't up to it anymore and the storm ran circles around them. If Madge doesn't understand this now then I don't know what to say. Our U20's squad is pretty gun but we can't purely rely on them.

with souths shiiit team we will always be outclassed .
Why do you even bother following the club? Whenever we lose you just bag us and act like its the end of the world. Whenever we win you go on like your the club's biggest fan. You are the work kind of supporter acting this way. Part of following a team is to support them through thick and thin, not turn your back on them at the earliest sign that things are going down hill.

I think Madge does realise this. As I've said before, one of things Madge has going for him is that he gives young players a chance and they seem to go on and have decent rugby league careers. Look at the amount of young players that have come through under him: Dylan Walker, Angus Crichton, Adam Reynolds, Nathan Brown, Jack Gosiewski, Cameron Murray, Aaron Gray, Kyle Turner, Nathan Peats, Apisai Koroisau...the list just goes on and on. Its pretty hard to accuse him of not being proactive in not moving on from 2014 given the number of young players we have got in the squad. What happened tonight was more a product of youth and inexperience than a lack of quality.

The club is definitely headed in the right direction in placing faith in these players. On the contrary, the Bulldogs and a couple of other teams have made serious mistakes in paying overs for mediocre players. This has come about due to a lack of talent on the open market. Clubs now are so focused on instant success that they are not willing to develop young players on any great scale unless they have absolutely no other alternative.

The trouble is that many of those players mentioned above have for one reason or another left STHS to rescue their careers.Young players who had been given a chance by Madge but were seeing their careers stagnate under his guidance. In most cases these players have made dramatic improvement in their new environment;& pretty much o/nite!
Keary,Brown etc & now Gray--it will be interesting to see how Gray goes at the Sharks!!

The Bulldogs pay overs for mediocre players? Have you seen our mediocre players that are on ridiculous wages? Burgess Twins, Farah and AR are some of the biggest. AR hasn't played a good 80 minute game this whole year. He is one of the worst halves in the competition as it stands. This is not an exaggeration. Even josh mccrone has put together better games that him.

Why is Sutton still playing 80 minutes? He struggles to pump out an efficient 40.

That was one of the worst games I've seen from all of our outside backs this year. Graham tried his heart out yet was constantly left exposed due to gray rushing in like a fool. Fuimaono and Graham are shining lights yes but I still think more recruitment needs to be done for this squad.

Jennings actually had a pretty good game last night though. Credit given where it's due.

Last night was so hard to watch because our boys showed no heart. When a team loses by 60 points there is a serious question of attitude. I understand teams can have bad games but watching that game as a Souths supporter was extremely hard. Watching players like Murray, Crichton, Fuimaono get dragged down by the laziness of our squad is just embarrassing. There's too many inconsistent players in our squad and most of them lie within the 2014 premiership squad.

Doyen gray was shocking last night. It was hard to watch. Most of the fault obviously lies within our second rowers and halves defensively but he made some poor decisions.

They haven't all left to rescue their careers. Most of them have left due to salary cap restraints. Keary left because of the Russell Crowe incident and the club was having problems with Dylan Walker. Other than that players like Peats, Nathan Brown and Aaron Gray have all left because we can't afford to keep everyone.

I don't really like bagging coaches but I do believe Madge's time should be up at STHS.

A lot of players,IMO,have depreciated under him--I would hate to see the same happen to Crichton,Murray,Fui & co. over time.
You can't judge this team, who like the other "also-rans", have had a gut full at this stage of the season.
This big loss was very predictable--the Storm,in Melbourne,
who are revving up bigtime for their finals campaign.
Sths have thrown away the typical Madge structure over the past 4 or 5 wks but it will return next season & players will be again reined into the usual plan.
I don't think naturally gifted players really flourish with Madge!

Well supposedly Madge is getting the sack during the finals so I guess we'll find out in a week or 2.

I completely disagree that we didn't show any heart. Why is it that every time we lose a game its all down to players not caring? Angus Crichton and Cameron Murray both proved that there is plenty of ticker at the club so I'm not buying into this whole thing about players not showing heart.

In terms of mediocre players, I disagree about the twins. Yes, they are not exactly at their 2014 best but they have been made scapegoats. As I pointed out a few weeks ago, they are not even in the top 50 players for handling errors. In particular, I think they have played some of their best footy in recent weeks. I agree with you about Sutton though and I think he should probably consider retiring. Farah has had a decent season without being brilliant but I would hardly pin our problems on him.

Adam Reynolds is an interesting one. I've said numerous times this year that his last tackle options have cost us an I stand buy that. In recent weeks, Adam Reynolds has decided to run the ball more and it has done him the world of good. It seem these days, halves tend to rely on one aspect e.g. kicking, support play, running the footy etc. without being proficient at others. In years gone by any first grade half worth his weight in salt would be able to do all of those things at a decent level at the very least. My point is though that Adam Reynolds needs to mix up his game more, like he has been in our recent good run of form and start taking the ball to the line.

The other problem with having a half who relies so much on his kicking game is that there is always the chance that you are going to give away 7 tackle sets which absolutely kill you. As the rule stands as soon as the ball goes dead its 7 tackles, which means you are punished for even the slightest over weighted kick. I don't know if anyone has picked up on this but we have conceded a hell of a lot of these this season meaning that teams have more opportunities of attacking our goal line. I'd personally like to see the ruled amended so that you only concede a 7 tackle set if you kick the ball dead from outside the opponents 20m line. The rule was brought in to stop teams kicking the ball dead as a way of nullifying dangerous fullbacks who could hurt you with their kick returns.

You've literally just outlined the only players who showed heart last night. That's why it's embarrassing. We have a few players who play well week in and week out and are dragged down by individual performances. This is why it wouldn't surprise me if they decide to up and leave. Madge doesn't punish poor performances he selects the same 17 the next week.

Twins are average NRL props that make little to no impact. They're not worth anything near 500k a season. They're worth closer to 300k. Their stats have dropped dramatically compared to the 2015 season. I don't care about the handling errors if they can put out decent numbers but they haven't been able to do that all season. Their numbers are well below a good prop in first grade let alone one worth 500k.

Farah is another waste of cap space. 500k for a bench hooker? Yeah no thanks... I'd much rather a player like James graham or Brett Morris in the team over Farah.

Your last point about the risk of kicking is completely false. Reynolds has had a shit kicking game all year. He doesn't just kick it dead. He either kicks it out of the sideline on the full or straight down the oppositions back 3 throat. Good halves have good kicking games. Corey Norman, Mitchell Pearce, Nathan Cleary are some of the best. Then you look at average kicking efficiencies this year you look at Mccrone, Townsend. Then you look at 50 piles of shit and then you look at hodkinson and Reynolds who hands down have the worst kicking efficiencies this year. Kicking is okay if you can actually kick. For some reason Reynolds cannot kick this year. It's not a pressure issue either.
