Gareth Widdop was the best player on the park today. Outstanding in all areas of rugby league. Attack, defence and leadership. Great role model for our young talents coming through. The future culture is looking good.

Fans need to get out to last game against Dogs. Big crowd required for another semi style game. C'mon you dragons.

Gareth was great but I would say that tariq was just a fair bit better.
Vaughan was also very good.
McInnes did 54 tackles and all the forward did well.
Mate I hate anz but i will be there.
We need to out number there supporters .
And make a lot of noise

Definitely Sims 3 points, daylight between him and Widdop for mine.

Widdop played with great desperation, made all those amazing tackles and was first on the loose ball when it was there to be contested. However, he did not have much of a stamp on the game controlling the attack. In fact, we looked very muddled in good field position.

Sims dominated. He played out of his skin. This guy has been great value. I thought when we signed him his career was going to peter out. He was the difference today.

I couldn't agree more, there were a number of times an attacking opportunity was lost with indecision from Widdop. I can't fault the effort but I am not convinced about the execution.

Wait. Did you say Leilua in the centres??

I'd prefer Milne there. But what choice other than Milne did we have given the squad that was available? Leilua has played there. I'd prefer just about anything to Mccrone being in the team, he's bog average. His kicking game was abysmal again and even down wind we were regularly making our first tackle on the 30-40m line. It was bad.

For anyone who thinks Widdop isn't captain material, I suggest you watch today's game... and be sure to keep your eyes open.

To summarise: Widdop was there, and we won. If Widdop wasn't there, we lose.

Great 2nd half, thought he was a bit off In the first half. Played very sideways. But he brought the game home nicely at the end there. I was critical of him at the death against Souths. But he made up for it against the Panthers.

I agree re widdop.
But I thought he colsed the game of quite well.
I think we had 3 or 4 repeat set .
Due to his short kicking game.
Our long kicking poor
Just about every time mccrone kicks long it straight down the throat of the fb or wingers .
Widdop short kicking quite good.
Long kicking is a let down.

Hame Sele looked great when he came on. He's a real asset. Laurie also looked good. (I don't have time to read the 22 pages of thread, so apologies if it's already been mentioned.)
