He went well yesterday but hasn't done enough to keep AR out yet imo.
For starters, at one point he was converting at 25%, keeping Manly in with a sniff.
Huge improvement on the Penrith game and has a very bright future but AR is still our 7 in my mind.
In fact, AD's form could be the kick up the arse that AR needs

Agreed, Reyno will be back in the 7 when he's availible but don't be suprised to see Doueihi in the 14 jersey.

I also think Doueihi will start putting real pressure on both our halves which should bring out the best in them.

On another note,

Also, after watching the game again, I've picked up a few things.

I mentioned it last night but our line speed needs to improve. While our contact and goal line defence was brilliant, Manly were able to make huge metres due to our poor line speed at times.

We did a great job at wrapping the ball up to contain offloads and also did a good job at slowing the ruck.

Sutto actually deserves more credit, he was really, really busy.

I didn't realise how shit the refs were, we actually had a whole heap of BS calls against us!!

But then the question is do we keep AR on purely for his goal kicking?

I’ve been one of his biggest critics on here and if we’re still winning by the time he returns I think AR should be playing off the bench. We must have another goal kicker somewhere in the ranks.

Walker is a good goalkicker & why he is not kicking instead of Dou has got me stumped!!
Dou,as a rookie, could do without the extra pressure.
The only spot AR could be considered for if Dou continues to shine[which he has]is at No.9.But we'd be carrying him purely for g/kicking--I don't think he has much more to offer that's better than Dou!
But Cook is going OK & hopefully will improve.
TBH,AR,on recent form should be at the Bears!

I don’t mind Arey off the bench though. Seibs has stated he wants to run a utility and I think that’s still what he’s trying to do. But if we’re keeping Arey in first grade because of his kicking then using him as a utility is also quite silly.

I don’t think Walker has always been a notorious goal kicker. Not from what I’ve seen. I know he can kick long distances quite well. Doueihi was supposed to be a really good kicker in reserve grade maybe it’s just him getting accustomed to the pace of first grade compared to reserve grade? Kicking while tired is really difficult.

a lot of his kicks were from the sideline in the wet so maybe it was just a bad day and im sure fatigue played a bit of a factor. i was surprised to see him kicking last weekend and i agree i dont think he needs the pressure.

Cook is going better than ok!!

He's made the most metres and runs out of any hooker in the comp!

Cook is killing it!

His running is good--general organisation fair!

Dou was the x-factor for Sths last match.

There needs to be more than just running to Damien's game before he is a complete package.
AJ ran 100ms with one run last game!

Cam Smith doesn't just run & nothing much else-----he provides 100s of metres to other players with clever play!
Damien still has plenty to learn--I believe he is a student of the game & very professional[his nickname is "The Pro" due to his great attitude] so hopefully he will improve in the management area.

Give him time Doyen.... he's coming of age!

He's growing!

Playing better than Api in my honest opinion.

Only issue i have with that approach towards him as our 9 is he's already 28. At what age will he come of age?
Api is 3 years youmger at least and by 28 should be a better player than Cook currently is.

That said, Cook has done some good things and I'll be pleased to see him go on with it and prove what i have said about him wrong.
