Moylan needs some structured attack to work with and we have none of that. I see him struggling to make a big impact once he is back.
But that's the main problem, is our plan of attack is non-existent or extremely lacking - So yes, even with Moylan/Seg/Whare in, we are still hoping for something off the cuff - Sure we've been a couple off those teams, but, IMO, I can see us being "a couple off" most teams this season - It looks as though we have absolutely no attacking plan at all - My point is, I think some people need to be a little realistic in regards to what this team can do with the plans we have in place (or lack thereof)
We have scored 73 points this year.
Parra are 5th have scored 52.
Storm 3rd have scored 79.
Broncos 2nd scored 83.
Sharks 9th scored 70
So do we rule out those teams aswell? If we are still doing the same things in round 10 then we have issues. Still very early to say we can't fix our attack
I really want whatever it is that makes some of you so positive! I understand we are a young team, that we've hung in there and kept them all close, that we have players to come back and will hopefully kick us into gear, but, you can't be genuinely this happy with being 1-3 - Yes, the Cows had a similar run last year, but this isn't the norm by any stretch - Yes, we could've won those close ones, but we didn't - There are positives out of these games, yes, but we're still losing them - I just can't see us getting anywhere near the top 8 this season with the attacking game plan we seem to be running - If our hopes hinge on Moylan or Carty playing off the cuff and winning us games based on individual brilliance because our attacking plans are failing, it's going to be a long season.
It doesn't really mean anything when you cherry pick one thing. All of those teams have shown a lot more in attack then we have, a lot more. If we came out next week with an attacking game plan similar to Brisbane or the storm I might die of shock. Those teams are much better defensively then we are as well.

Did you see the Storm last night?
Other than the Broncos and Cowboys (and both of them have had ordinary games) no teams attack is looking smooth or full of imagination at this point. Our defence (while are missed tackle count is horrendous) or atleast our effort/clean up tackling seems to have improved from last year, even without Taylor in the squad.
If we're playing like this at round 10 i'll be worried, but we're 4 rounds in. Most games are still a lottery at this point.

The same Broncos we beat? Or the same Storm that Dragons scored 16 against? Yet only scored 14 v us?
We have less points against then GC and Canberra do who are in the 8.
We aren't the best but we are no where near the worst as some here think
Brisbane was a tough win but the fact is they jumped out to an early lead very easily and then switched off and we pounced and 14 was enough to beat us still...I don't see the point there none of that proves our attack or defence is good. Who beat who or who has scored this amount of points doesn't prove anything I am just looking at our performance's which have shown we have a very basic game plan and some defensive issues.
Yeah cant have shit attack and miss 40 tackles a game and act like there are no issues. We have been in all our games this year because of our effort but that obviously is not enough to win us many games alone.
I was just pointing out those 2 teams aren't perfect at this stage either. I'd be better if we'd of closed the Bulldogs and Dragons game for wins though doesn't change the fact we did plenty of good things in those games. A few less mistakes and a bit of polish in attack and we will be fine when the other teams get messed up for SOO
3/4 is a long way from 1/4 though isn't it? We cant close out games because as I just said you cant have a winning team that struggles to score and misses lots of tackles. Soward crumbling under pressure hasn't helped this season either.
The only thing pleasing about this teams performance has been the effort and the metres we are making, everything else is way off.
How did being 2-0 help us last year? It papered over some cracks which came out later.
I can only assume you didn't watch us v dragons on Sunday.Parra v Tigers was the worst game of the year.
