I agree but begs the question why did Gus give Luai a 4 year deal knowing Burton was coming through
12 months ago we had players in our team that had no idea who Matt Burton was. Luai was too good for reserved but stuck behind an Origin halves pairing. Something needed to be done to keep him... It's pretty much a fluke we have Burton looking ready for NRL at the same time Luai has gotten his chance. It certainly wasn't the situation 12 months ago.

Also when did Luai ever get a 4 year deal? His last deal was a 2 year extension. I don't think his contract before that was a 4 year deal.

Although if you could lock a potential superstar in for 4 years before he becomes a superstar it could easily pay for itself. Burton right now is likely on barely more than minimum wage. If you signed him to a 4 year deal even at double his current rate. You could be getting him for potentially a quarter of his market value in 3 years time. But a player would be insane to accept that deal.

Weird. Would love to know what’s going on.

10 tries in 14 games and he can’t make the team?!

Yeah it is weird.

I think Dyl must be ready to go. We would usually name a back on the extended bench on tuesday just in case someone gets hurt during the week. If Dyl is fit Aekins becomes that 18th man id say.

Alot of the teams will change across the week. I doubt it runs out 1-17

This was mentioned on Facebook (I've tried to respect people's privacy for obvious reasons)

If he'd been injured in the warmup you would think the media would have known about it.

Naden must be injured or "injured". Take your pick.

Keep in mind that Naden has been sacked by 3 clubs (including Penrith) for poor attitude / discipline in the past.

Coming back unfit, and/or in the wrong head space is right up his wheelhouse. And if my mail is right, he's not the most popular player in the squad at the best of times.

Cleary should wear the 14 jersey regardless of whether he starts. It would be a mark of respect to the job the halves have done. Also a slap on the wrist from the club and dad.
That's all I have say about daat.
