It was moronic to try it in that spot, and it may not have been Cleary Jr. who made the call to try it.

Our lack of pace out wide is a major issue for us but for mine our supposed forward leader and enforcer needs to be the first to see NSW Cup. His less than satisfactory performances is not a recent phenomenon as he has been poor for a long time. It may well piss DWZ off but I would bring in Aekins to play fullback and put Dallin back on the wing . Poor Dylan needs a spell in NSW Cup. You could probably make more changes but I don’t see that happening at present.

You’re not. It is one of the single dumbest, lowest percentage, lowest IQ plays I’ve ever seen in the game context.

Counterpoint: If he had led the team downfield, got a repeat set, then set up the game-tying try by choosing the right pass at the right time, I would be 100 times more excited because we need a controlling half with a brain, not someone who's going to do low percentage plays that come off once every 100 plays.

That said, it seemed very out of character for him to attempt that.
