have you seen the chooks team? it is not the flash.
No Morley, no Fitzgibbon, no Cross. They have lost their 3 best players from the backs and forwards.

No Hodges, that evens that one out! Positive is no seymour though!:D

Moving forward is bringing the biggest talent we have at the club in Hunt into the halves where he will progress to eventually anyway. Moving forward is starting to bring through the likes of Eastwood, Stagg, Hannant, Thaiday etc into the pack and starting to get rid of some of the dead wood. Moving forward is about getting Berrigan out of the centres and on to the bench in a utility role.

Keeping Seymour at half is the same old same old, thats not going foward, thats being stagnant. Perry isn't the path I'd choose but Bennett is at least holding Seymour accountable for dismal form.

Well Perry didn't go too bad last night. He wasn't fantastic but he at least ran to the line with a bit of purpose and his kicking game was better than anything we've seen from Seymour in a long long time. I think he deserves at least another shot.

I'd like to see how he goes when we have a bit of firepower in the backline when Tate and Hodges return. He probably had the worst centre combination in the comp to work with last night in Carroll and Berrigan.

someone needs to tell bennett that Carroll cant play centre anymore, look at the size of him, hes a forward now, just cause he played the position a couple of years ago doesnt mean he still can...

My thoughts:

I thought the backline was apart of the reason why we were so boring last night. Hunt was safe at fullback, but didn't do much as a playmaker. Tupou was starved of ball while he was at the wing and thus was only given one run in open space, I still think he is a bit shaky and needs to work on a few things. Boyd was safe on the wing too and did a nice few things.

Berrigan needs to change position as soon as possible. He's just too one dimensional at Centre and I think he would provide better service either coming off the bench or playing lock. Carroll was good definsivly but in attack he was useless. Keep him in the forwards even before Hodges and Tate return.

The halves were solid. I can't really rate them since their backs namely Centres just couldn't help them. I thought Lockyer did a few good things. I thought Perry showed some potential and I think he deserves another chance at halfback, atleast until Seymour can string some back to back good games at the Clydies.

Webcke and Civoniceiva both played well, although their really slowing down our pack. McGuire really had no direction at hooker, however he did put in some nice kicks and if some of them had of bounced nicer would of affected the game.

Parker still hasn't impressed me. Although I'm not sure of his stats and I'm not sure if he's playing a workhorse role really he doesn't offer much except for goal kicking. Carlaw I thought wasn't playing that well, although to his credit he did come up with that one good play where he forced the Roosters player into the in-goal area. Stagg just keeps on impressing me, the guy has that zip that our team needs. I don't want to see him in hooker again because that's when our attack really went pedestrian.

Our bench was probably the best part of the match. Hannant played solid but with purpose. Lacey made a solid debut and IMO if we work on him could be our answer out at hooker. Eastwood played his best game and showed how much potential he has. He reminds me of a younger faster Tonie Carroll like player. Now the guy that deserves the biggest wrap Sam Thaiday. This guy was apart of the reason we won. Every run served a purpose, everything he did atleast showed promise. He adds such good impact and good on him for his try along with Eastwood.

We still have a long way to go though. If we want to be a threat we do need Tate and Hodges. To be a threat we needa halfback and hooker combination and we need to work on it right now. If we are to be a threat we need to stop this flat attacking style. None of our players had bodies in motion and it's been like that for awhile now. Our players need to be ready and not set themselves for one play.

Lockyer, Hunt and Perry can't do it themselves and it showed last night. Any normal team would've put 40+ on the Roosters last night however we could only muster 24 points.

With Hodges out and Tate pulling out it was the best availiable option!:?

I thought Stagg would've been better IMO, he's more mobile unlike Carroll.

Maybe, but who would be the backup hooker! We are very short in that area!

Stagg shouldn't have been our backup hooker in the first place, especially since we had a specialist hooker (Lacey) warming the bench already.

yeh my thoughts too, Stagg should have been in the centres and Lacey to hooker when we needed it...

Exactly, it was a weird move by Bennent to have Stagg as a backup hooker when we had a specialist.

Fair enough and I'm not saying I disagree, but I would have done the same thing. Even though Carroll is slower than he was, he still had centre experience!

McGuire shouldn't have been pulled as early as he was as well. We looked quite good when he ran out of dummy half, about the only time we got any momentum into our pack.
