Round 7 vs Warriors

Thinking about it we played right into their hands. Offside on the line, penalty , go for the try, offside again , penalty, go for the try, etc. So, by not kicking for goal and the offside play stopping the try’s the Warriors just keep doing the same thing. If we had kicked 3 goals I bet they would have stopped the offsides. Bad mistake.
Dufty as mentioned ran to much sideways tonight, he must be the quickest full back around, why aren’t we using the outside inside ball to him on the fly ala Slater?

Full credit to kiwis, there defence line intensity and way closed us up was first class. We had most of momentum in 2nd half and possession in game at 67%, but minimal luck throughout. Could have easily won game, if one of those close calls went our way. Concerned about out attack, it is not fluent, even against cronulla, although we put 40 on. Find mostly one off brilliance. We rarely have fluent backline movements and decoy plays. Widdop was lost yesterday. Look at way tigers play, there attack is way ahead of ours. Even Walters quoting they are genuine title contenders. Proud of boys, our intensity was excellent throughout, cant win em all and full credit to kiwis.

The Dragons were very flat and disorganised. Widdop missed a routine tackle.. Mac Donald missed a sitter. The attack was disorganised and the players did not know where to run and seemed to run around in circles. The forwards were unimpressve and maybe are ccoming to the burn out stage like last year. Mc Innes looked rattled when the tries were not coming. Perhaps there are too many try scoring options and the playings are getting in each other's way. The attack needs simplification not complication.

Don't overthink things. It was a good game to watch. You're only focused on our deficits and not the fact that we were outplayed even when Green was sent to the bin. We had plenty of opportunities to capitalise on the numerous penalties granted our way. Forget it and focus on the Roosters. Yesterday is done and dusted.

We should have kicked for goal at 4/0 then when we get down there again level it when they give another penalty..
It has been working well for us dont change
Macca drop first pass with only rts to beat and in second half same if lafai passed it.
Gtaham knock on was a shame
We would have won it.
THE BIG? IS HOW WE BACK UP V CHOOKS STORM NOT LAST NIGHTS RESULT.

Widdop is so crucial to us winning. He has always been an up and down type of player. When he is on we destroy oppositions but when he is off we struggle. He has been off for a couple of weeks now. His first few weeks he was on fire but he has been quiet since.
Lets hope he has a blinder on ANZAC day because if he doesn't we will lose that match.

Got to wonder why key players go missing for weeks.

I understand a centre or wing having a quiet game.

But a half who is in the thick of it.

No excuse.

It's called desire.

And I am sick of some players lack of year long desire.

Find it again or p$#s off.

I love the fact we didnt shoot for goal. 1 player in the bin. They BACK THEMSELVES to GO FOR IT. Playing to win vs playing not to lose.

Didnt get the try but can't argue with the attitude.
top marks to the warriors ..they have been super esp in defence
our halves have been dreadful , our attack disjointed , and the service from d

Im thinking our preparation , mentally , could have been much better.Up till last week this match was being billed as one of the games of the season
Once the warriors were beaten last week , and then Johnson was out , there appeared more focus on the roosters and storm matches , our short back up time and how many of our players are closing in on Origin Selection..Complacency for this match crept in and we deserved what we got especially in the first half .We were way off the pace and totally out enthused.i have no doubt that there will be a surge of intensity as we head into the Roosters Anzac clash esp with the media hype surrounding it.
If we return to what has worked for us so far this season i dont think the Chooks can match it with us.

Crush, I rely on you for optimism. Don't let me down. Widdop is our best player!

The Warriors played exceptionally well.
However the Dragons were unimpressive apart from defence. Without the one out efforts of Hunt and Sims things would have been grim with no real spark in attack. De Belin and Frizell were quiet. We need more impact from the bench. Ah Mau and Mann hold their end up but Latimore was marginal and Sele seemed invisible.
The whole team seemed in panic mode. They expect to score a half-a-dozen tries and when they do not come they begin to panic.

Sele was invisible unless you were looking at the bench because he never got off it

I will put the loss into context. We played very well, only to lose to a very good side, who played very well at home.

If Nene catches the ball, it could have been a different game. If the video ref decided that the Warriors had played their advantage when Lafai took the intercept, it could have been a different game. If we took our shots for penalty goal, it could have been a different game. If we had Lomax on the wing, instead of Nightingale, it could have been a different game. If Widdop didn't miss the one on one tackle early in the game, it could have been a different game. Dufty was tackled just as he as about to take Simms pass and dropped the ball, It could have easily been a penalty to us then, or even a sin bin.

We are playing very well this year.
Lot of “if’s” there Frank but hard to argue with you. Very important now to beat the chooks or else the mind games will kick in. The storm also looked better last night & they always lift against us. The next 2 games should define our season
