That right there. That's why I can't accept our halves. Mullen had soooooo many options, and time, it was all set up for him to guide us to a repeat set or a genuine chance. And he just kicks it at Tapau. There's no vision or composure at all after all these years.

Uate drives me insane too but I also think it's important to note what happens when you replace all these guys who are a bit rocks and diamonds with guys who are 100% plod.

You get a team that has a Pat Mata'utia instead of a Joey Leilua. A Trent Hodkinson instead of a Tyrone Roberts. A Tariq Sims instead of a Joey Tapine even.

Basically you get a team that can't actually create anything. We already struggle so much in attack. At the very least Uate bends the line, earns penalties, generally finishes off a good move.

I'm happy for the future not to include Aku, but if it means a team of 'solid' Mata'utias and Hodkinsons then I don't think people should get too excited.

Agree 100%, well said.

.... and yet years ago some of where saying this and many keep defending him. Similar to Uate.

When we go wide it is literally just for the sake of going wide. There is no structure, no speed, no decoys, no momentum of any kind. It's just pass, pass, pass, oh well look here we are out wide, errrr, I better not go over the sideline.

I think a big part of that is the zero threat of the ball players as potential ball runners. The defensive line just has to work out what boring play Hodko is going to come up with, because he's not going to break them open himself. And Mullen rarely does either. And our second rowers can't pass. And Gagai can't do anything.

I wish our backline plays looked like building to something just once.

Williame is going to finally experience first grade victory today. So unsurprising that we're the ones to give it to him.
