Why cant soward kick a goal from the touch. Price should drop him asap and bring in drinkwater.

Quinlan had a very good debut. Agree we need to find a place for him in the team. Hmmm, perhaps halfback?????

probably the 17 players will try their hearts out but it won't be enough to clinch the game as we simply don't have the strike power, direction or the game plan to win.

Quote me this time tomorrow guys. That's just how it is.

Not because we lost because it affected both sides, but that would have to have been one of the worst refereeing displays that I have seen for a long time....and that includes the linesmen and video ref......to penalise Fien right in front for diving on the ball when it was clear there was no dummy half in position was one..then Taylors intercept right in front of the ref when it was obvious he was 2 metres offside another...then the no try to Zillman another (obstruction)...then the try awarded to Zillman when he clearly placed the ball short of the line.etc etc.....Hayne clearly needs to smarten himself up before Origin or else he wont be there......on a brighter note I thought Quinlan had a sound debut and Stockwell continues to improve every game.....on a not so bright note what is wrong with young Debelin, honestly at times he needs a bomb under him....I realise he does a lot of defensive work but his urgency in the play the ball etc is woeful....and I agree with some I think its time to give Drinkwater some more game time......if we're not to get a new half in the near future then he needs some quality First grade experience before Widdop comes on board and Dugan chimes into the backline.

Positives for today are:

Quinlan belongs in FG played very well and Cam Kings return, he looked like another Cam by the name of Smith with his quick service and darts out of dummy half.

I thought he was ok after a brilliant first touch. It was tough for him when the Dragons were pinned inside their 20 & the Titans were swarming in defence. His lack of size meant he would've been an easy target to be driven back or lose the ball. It was like the Charity Shield when he just looked to be lacking confidence to get involved. I don't know if he can be turned into an NRL standard half though. Does anyone know if he's played half or 5/8 before ?

As others have noted, Fien looks at his best these days when he occasionally jumps into dummy half, but we have plenty of options there.

Vidot has too many bad mistakes in him to be an effective first grader. He actually closed his eyes catching a bomb that he dropped because he saw Idris come at him and got scared.

It's nice to see Newcastle lose a couple on the trot and get flogged today after Uncle Wayne indirectly labelled his side a premiership contender a few weeks ago after they beat the Titans.

Vidot is FG
He' s a quality bench back rower
Drop Harrison
Quinlan can play half or 5/8
I'd consider Widdop at half and Quinlan at pivot next yesr if the both have kicking games
If Price picks Prior in the centres again he should be hung drawn and quartered
Our biggest problem in 2014 is going to be our kicking game
This facet of our game should be our singular prior st this time

Prior is not a Centre, Soward can't kick goals anymore, refuses to run the ball, our discipline and giving away penalty back to back is placing us under heaps of pressure, and our goal line defense is brittle at stages. Refs dodgy calls Again this week, Quilan needs to play fullback more. Another invisible man performance from Bronson Harrison and Creagh cameo appearance. I think we are also not matching the teams mentally and get frustrated with penaltys.

Kicking out on the full, again, led directly to a Titan's try. Coach killer.
Also no offloads from Creagh, when he used to be so good at it.
