I compare our NRL team against the SG Ball team yesterday and have no doubt the latter is better coached. In attack and defence. the SG Ball team performed so much better against a far larger side. Having just changed coaches, this is concerning.

I wouldn't think that coaching an SG Ball squad compares to coaching an NRL one. Besides, Potter can only work with the players at his disposal. As many have pointed out, he inherited a grossly-imbalanced squad from your man Sheens, and one which has been beset by injuries. Results have been disappointing so far but not unexpected; at the start of the year the Tigers were widely predicted to finish in the bottom 4. The disappointment last year was far greater because we were title favourites at the start of the year only to run a dysmal 10th.

Although I have grave reservations about Potter's coaching ability I will support him for the remainder of the year and into 2014. He deserves the chance to fail and embarrass himself like his predecessor.

I too support Potter. He deserves his chance. This year was always going to be a bit crazy as he was forced to use a roster of players reflecting Sheens desires / wants. I think / hope / pray that the club will allow him to cut any player he wishes at the end of this season to allow him to recruit a squad that reflects his desires in a team so we can make a valid assessment of his ability in the 2014 season which currently is his contracted last for WT. If not, what hope does the poor bugger have as most of the main squad and its weaknesses are players that Sheens recruited and fostered and are covered in contract until atleast the end of Potters contract. Something has to give- and to be fair to Potter, it has to be the players he may not want.

Some examples (from ZeroTackle):
2015- Ayshford, Blair, Moltzen, Marshall
2016- Fulton, Lawrence.

Like the two previous posts,Potter has to be given at least 18months, in that time he should have a fair chance to try and offload some contracts, attract some new ones and implement his coaching ideas. He will probably do it tough trying to attract quality players and he may struggle trying to offload some big contracts but it must be his no1 priority.

I think at present, injuries aside his biggest problem is trying to de-sheenius the club.He is trying to introduce a new style of football and to do that he has to go right back to the start, try get a defensive structure in place and the slowly move to other facets of the game, hence their is zero attack and very little cohesion. The defensive structure has been very good, most of the trys conceded have come from constant turnovers and lots of dropped high balls. Our attack on the other hand is a shambles, with our major playmakers seem to be like headless chooks.

Anyway its going to be a long long season, but with Sheens still on the payroll, its highly unlikely our cash strapped club will flick him before his contract expires and I see that as a good thing

Georgallis, Skando, Leeds and Royce should be the first sackings.

The first three are protected from board level though not because of their ability but because of who they know

Your are probably right but what I enjoyed was watching a well coached team with two halves who new their role and were well coached to perform it. Considering Armstrong was out of position (Normally second row) he is a great talent and Head has done a tremendous job with him. I do believe Head is a valuable asset whom would improve the performance of our WT halves and mentor our young halves.
