The rundown
Team news
Panthers: Ivan Cleary has named the same 17 that took care of the Bulldogs last week but co-captain Nathan Cleary will be monitored for any latent concussion symptoms in the coming days before a final decision is made on his availability.

Api Koroisau (broken wrist) is expected to miss at least another five weeks. Mitch Kenny took Koroisau's place against the Bulldogs and punched out 80 minutes for the 2020 minor premiers.

Storm: Tom Eisenhuth comes into the starting side for suspended back-rower Felise Kaufusi. Two new faces on the bench with Aaron Pene and Nicho Hynes named to play their first game for the season.

Tyson Smoothy has been dropped to the reserves list after coming off the bench in the first two games.

Prop Nelson Asofa-Solomona appeared to suffer a chest injury late in Thursday night's loss to Parramatta but he has been named to play.

Brenko Lee (hamstring) and Dale Finucane (calf) are scheduled to return in round four, hooker Harry Grant (knee) in round six or seven and Max King (Achilles) no sooner than round eight.

Play it safe, confident in Burton slotting in.

If hypothetically speaking Burton was also not available, guessing Luai shifts to half, May moved to 5/8th and possibly Salmon becomes the bench utility?

That'll be the position next year you'd expect.

For me, Jerome should be half back and take naths role. Burton 5/8. Good chance for Romey to step up. He's played a lot of hb before in juniors and he's done well the few games at hb he's had at nrl. Think he score a hatrick or double against warriors at hb a few years ago when Nathan was out if my memory is correct. It would be great for him to have a big game a hb without Nathan there.

I'd just let burton do the long kicking.

Nah you want him just doing his bit and not organising

I think its a better benefit to the team to get luai doing it. Especially in a rd3 game. What if Nathan goes down in the first 5 mins of a final? Jerome doing it now and taking on that extra responsibility will only be beneficial for his development and the team in the long run.

If it doesn't pay off and doesn't work at least we know. But if he kills it then it's great for the team and gives you a bit of confidence to maybe give Nathan a rest around soo time as well cause romey can step up.

Way more positives to him doing than not.

Besides like I said he's done very well in the past filling that role, albeit not against the storm. Much better player now than when he filled in at hb last time.
