Well look at his target audience.

The content of his commentary was a lot more technical when he first started, but I suspect his employers told him to dumb it down if he wanted to keep his job.

The average footy fan knows f**k-all about rugby league. Hell, not even ten years ago nuffies were still talking about inside and outside centres.
