I don't even like Kanye that much, and maybe he was crap live on this occasion, but the responses in this thread are fairly ridiculous. Kanye is obviously talented and the unanimous positive critical responses to his work thus far prove it.

Kanye's shows at the Hordern and Opera House earlier this year were two of the best live gigs I've ever seen. There I found the strings were an enhancement. Playing before U2 for a mostly middle class rock audience in a giant stadium are obviously not suitable conditions - kudos to him for even agreeing to it. I'll be at Monday's show in my 'Ye shirt - showing some love.

He was really entertaining, even in a setting that was poor for hip hop.

umm ...do you even know what a producer does? quit now before you embarrass yourself further

you might'nt like his music, and thats cool, im not a massive fan myself. But like it or not, Kanye is a world class producer. The upper echelon of hip hop producers are virtuosic in their own right. The neptunes are f**king genius's, and Kanye aint all that far behind. His production credits would make you weep .....the guy was a millionaire before the world even knew his name.
