Have they brought out the "third biggest sporting event on the planet" tripe yet?
I reckon people in Australia, and the world, are more interested in the Womens Soccer World Cup than this shyte.
Uhm what about the AFL International Series, the greatest sporting event on planet earthHa yes, the SMH has been calling it the 3rd biggest event on the planet.
Now, I'm no expert but off the top of my head the following events would all generate more money and more viewer's worldwide...Summer Olympics, Winter Olympics, Football World Cup, Football Euros, Cricket World Cup, Cricket 20/20 World Cup, Fiba Basketball World cup ( if only for the Interest from the American and Chinese market )
Best second 5/8 in the game.
Honestly, my AGBs are regularly bigger events than the RWC.Ha yes, the SMH has been calling it the 3rd biggest event on the planet.

Didn't they sign a winger from Melbourne a few years back who became the Wallabies best player.... a f**king winger!Ponga
Crichton
Suaali
Keary
any of them would kill it for the wallabies.
yep, last time they raided us, these players all made their debuts a year or 2 laterWho gives a shit... They can poach away all they like, no one is bigger than the game in RL.
If they take a star that will provide a gap that another player will fill, and it will keep going so on and so forth until they've run out of money.
If they were smart they'd invest that money into improving and marketing their game and the grassroots, but maybe I shouldn't be giving them ideas.
YehAs per usual RU is in the news again with a link to the NRL. it's the only way they grab media attention. Surely the yawnion death knell is imminent. Or they may well be happy being the 4th ranking football code in Oz. If so credit to them, at least they know their place.
