Get ready to be shaken again. Anthony Mundane has called for all players to boycott both the nrl grand final and the flag fumble in Melbourne.

I'm with you Anthony and friends. Just as long as you're happy for the nrl and it's fans to boycott the all star game and indigenous round.

You was waffling on about it being written in 1700s. How does this merkin get quoted when he can't even get facts straight?

Who's signing the anthem if it's Jessica Mauboy again it could all be a bit weird. I hope it is her as she's the best I've seen do it.
If players do choose to boycot the anthem which of course is their right are fans going to be labeled racist if they exercise their right as paying customers to show their displeasure and boo said player?

Why will you boo?

Players not standing for the national anthem doesn't affect me in the least.
It's not hurting anyone.

I'm not saying i will but if fans do are they racist? Some people hold things like this very dear it may mean nothing to you but to some it will.

I don't know if NRL fans actually care that much about the anthem to boo.
I would probably stop short of racism but ignorant maybe? Mostly be cause the only time to me we seem patriotic is ANZAC Day.

I don't actually see anything happening as our anthem is right before kick off.

I just don't think doing something plenty of people will consider disrespectful is the best way to about raising the issue of respect, which is what racism and this issue boils down to.
Mundine is to the indigenous community what Hanson is to the ginger community.
Sure things are far from perfect but sportsmen have the ability to reach people in other communities other people wouldn't be able to and make a difference.
There's much better ways to go about things than what he is promoting, this just promises to be decisive more than inclusive.

Your joking right? I would say Australians are some of the most patroliotic types I've met. Sure it's not like the USA being all over the top but still as an outsider I would say you are pretty patriotic people overall.

I'm not joking, at least I'm not overly patriotic.
I also don't consider it 'disrespectful' to not stand for the anthem....what's the big deal?

Sit stand squat kneel laydown who gives a f**k.

Anything that draws attention to any form of equality is a good thing IMO.

I actually hope they do it.

Simple solution.Have the Australian and Indigenous flag side by side when the anthem is played.
I just don't think protests like this solve problems ,they draw attention ATT,.
Forgotten the next day,the Govts of all persuasions need better consultation with these communities as to their needs.

look at mundine in this anthem + some of the storm players lol
That's the thing nobody actually sings the anthem, they are pretty much waiting to start the game.
I don't think people would really care that much.

We've established you don't consider it disrespectful. I can tell you that's not been the reaction of people on the shop floor this morning. Even from the large non Aussie born contingent.
