The one thing I applaud in this whole thing is how Timana Tahu handled this. He walked away with his dignity in tact and brought to our attention the issues in today's NRL.

What do you think Timana will be saying about the NRL behind closed doors. Brandon Cannon is somewhere laughing his ass off.

This reminds me of that Spanish coach Aragones calling Henry a black merkin in Spanish during their training session. Furthermore Spain is a racist country and look how well their economy is going.

The difference is, Aragones is 70 years old, Joey should know better.

Racism... hmmm slandering an entire nation because of the bigoted comments on an individual. You might also have to explain the link between Spain's alleged racism and its economic performance?

I must of missed the part where the entire NRL made these claims?

There is a direct link. Racist/Close Minded countries are insular, they fear foreign competition and direct investment into their countries. In today's globalised econmy, the funds just go elsewhere and insular economy stagnates.

You really think Australia's economy would still be posting gains if we didn't relax the immigration policy for the last decade? lol

1 isolated incident = sweep it under the rug
2 isolated incidents = benefit of the doubt
3 isolated incidents = cause for concern

See where Im going here?

RL had the first Aboriginal Captain of a National side decades before any other sport.

RL had the first Aboriginal to captain a club team in a Premiership winning side.

RL was also the first sport to have Aboriginals leave this country and play professional sport in another country.

RL played test matches against the Maori decades before other sports would even consider picking more than a token player.

RL has never banned anyone playing the game because of their race or religion.

RL has never got into bed with movements like Apartheid and Nazis.

RL has never had to use a quoter system so that other races get a fair go in the sport.

As far as I'm concerned, RL is a leader in sport and has a damn proud history compared to most others, a few idiots don't change this except if you're a troll.

Do you really need me to highlight all the scandals league has suffered? Come on you can't be that out of it.

Soulja,

Every SPORT suffers scandals. You think that NRL is the only sport in the world that has scandals? you've got to be kidding me. You only notice the NRL ones because you follow it. Anyway, why do you let it get to you? Don't you watch the game to see your team play?

Why are we comparing ourselves to the sh*t that is AFL? Any footballing league that still allows the likes of Barry Hall to play gets zero respect from me.

Just because they're idiots makes it OK for league players to act like fools as well?

You don't follow rugby league, that much we know.

But you also don't follow soccer.

For years, racism has been rife in soccer.

Soccer's Racism Problem

After racist chants in stadiums in Italy and Spain last weekend brought African players to tears, the European Union and soccer's governing body are planning to get tougher on soccer's major problem.

On soccer pitches across Belgium this weekend, players will wear a black and white stripe on their faces. In Italy, an anti-racism banner will be unveiled before the opening whistle of every top Italian league and Italian Cup match.

The measures, organized by the Belgian and Italian leagues, follow another shameful weekend of racism in European soccer. On Sunday, Messina's Ivory Coast defender Marc Zoro threatened to walk off the field after fans of his team's opponents, Inter Milan, repeatedly hurled racial epithets at him. Two Espanyol of Barcelona players, the Cameroon goalkeeper Carlos Kameni and the Brazilian midfielder Fredson, were subjected to racist chants in Madrid by fans of opponent Atletico Madrid.

Another week another embarrassing incident for Rugby League.

The game is just a joke right now, every other week we get a headline about the rampant Cheating, Racism, Sexual assault and other assorted numbskullery that are associated with league at the moment.

Its like league and its players has become oblivious to the social changes happening around us and is still stuck in the 1960s.

I am embarrassed to call myself a rugby league supporter right now. the league has become a disgrace and a laughingstock. Lucky the socceroos put up such a sh*t performance in the World Cup cause I dont see League is going to maintain its fanbase with the direction its currently going down.

Cool story bro!

Well I think I addressed that when I said Spain was a inward looking country. Given soccer is played everywhere in the world of course we will get instances of racism it doesn't surprise me.

However Soccer played at the highest level will not idly stand by and allow racism to go unpunished.

Remember the racism chants by the Atletico Madrid fans a few years ago in the Champions League? Result, empty stadium matches for the rest of the tournament.

Now Joey Johns as a coach no less, does this during Rugby League's showcase event State of Origin and drives one of his players away with his racist antics. And what punishment does he get? Nothing.

Ridiculous.
