I'm having a seriously rough trot online... in my last 15 matches i'd be 5-10, i reckon. Geez there have been some close ones where I've dropped my lollies at the end. Few golden pointers in there, too. I've found playing online to be heavily defense oriented - anyone can score tries... but defending them is another thing entirely.

true to life, oddly.

Is that because the online play is ranked? Do you get fed geniuss at the start and then before too long you're playing against every other f**ker on a hot streak?

Played amateur and belted Manly 78-6. Played rookie and belted Manly 26-4. Hopefully next level of difficulty gives me more of a challenge.

I played someone online who was using Australia, he only had two tactics in attack, spread right to Inglis, or left to Uate. He was leading 12-6 at halftime, Inglis and Uate were both exhausted by the time the second half started, I exploited the shit out if both of them and got to 36-12 before he quit.

it is ranked, but i'm not sure if the rankings have anything to do with the matchmaking or not. the skill level of the people i'm playing seems highly variable and hard to pick... i just went through a particularly tough trot last night, I think. admittedly I probably lost a few of the games late on in the night because I was on tilt a bit, too.

Professional will have Manly beat you by 2 to 6 points

Legend will have Manly annihilate you 40-0

To reiterate what i've said from day dot

You play like a moron (aka tigers, warriors) and you'll get thumped like a nerdy redheaded male who brags about becoming the schools chess champion in the playground

Play like a structure whore (Manly, Melbourne) and you will f**k every team dumb enough to turn up on the day

Rushes of blood are for geniuss but if you can safely offload by all means do so, just don't do it Willy nilly like Cuthbo used to, aim for a Kennedy offload

Play the game in the opposition half and they'll struggle, turn the screws and they will break

Cut out passes are a sometimes food while running into the line, throw a 4 man cut out and expect to be intercepted, from dummy half outside their ten your generally safe, inside not so much

100% agree with everything you just said, The Eagle... aside from one single guy that I played against that seemed to be able to chip and cutout whenever he pleased. I'm pretty sure it was the lag not allowing me to tackle him, moreso than any particular skill he had at the game, though. I haven't seen his prowess replicated since.

I can't agree more.

I was playing against some idiot Dogs supporter and he was just offloading even single chance he got. With the lag it was quite annoying. Never the less - He turned the ball over a lot which allowed me to score points.

But in my experience, any lag means you can't tackle properly and once a line break happens - it's a certain try

I just love a four man cut-out too much.

Conceded four tries against the Dragons last night. All from intercepts.

I love nothing more than seeing guys like Hayne throw their big cut outs, needless to say its so hard to resist the urge in the game, I can throw one man cutouts just fine, two or three man and it's pretty much a guaranteed intercept (unless passing from dummy half), and yet sometimes I still go for those massive passes, it actually come off once, unfortunately I was hoping to find Ken Sio on the wing, instead I got Justin Poore.

I beat table topping raiders 36-12 and then got flogged by a 12th place warriors by 24 points. Makes things interesting. I always get a competitive game from fringe top 8 sides. But finals are always a step above

I love this game but it has come out at the most hectic period both gaming wise and personal and work wise so i have had no time to REALLY sink my teeth into it...

So i am still losing games on rookie haha... I am hoping tonight i can pull away from XCom, i just find myself lazy because I know that i am going to own this game for a loooooong long time...

I've got 28 out of the 35 achievements so far. Anyone got them all?

I have 30/35 achievements at the moment.

Ones I need to get:

  1. Win the World Club Challenge in Career mode.
  2. Turn a profit every year in Career mode.
  3. Win the Dally M or Man of Steel award in an NRL or Super League season in Career mode.
  4. Complete a 10 year career
  5. With 1 team go through an NRL or Super League season without conceding a loss.

Having only played 3 games on ametuer I moved it up to rookie and started a season. 5 games in I'm on 10 points despite being flogged in my 2 trial matches. I think Soward has won MoM in every game and is carving up everyone.

Flogged Broncos so I'm happy about that.

Wanted to bump it up another level of difficulty but might finish this season first and see what happens.

I have 29 achievements, I would have had the achievement for winning the comp, a player getting that Dally M (Luke Burt lol), and winning the world club challenge, but apparently you don't get achievements if you sim through a season first.

This game, like Rugby League 3, based player performance too much on points scored.
