Rugby League Live 2

The way I figure, the game is what it is; a rugby league game. It's arguably the best that has been produced, but that is a testament to the shit that has come before it as much as anything. There are fundamental errors (like no custom players in career/props on the wing) and glitches (like jerky commentary, players and balls going through other players like they're not there) which are very frustrating. But these are things that can be fixed with a decent patch.
The things I love about the game are it seems for the first time, players need to watch themselves, because there are consequences for throwing the ball around just like that. You need to plan your attack, which when done right comes off brilliant.

Ok, I just found the one thing worse then pulling off a sweet backline movement only to have a forward out on the wing. Pulling off a sweet backline movement only to have your winger standing in touch.

Yeah, has happened to me twice (winger out of play when ball passed).

I've scored some blistering tries with Kade Snowden on the wing, too. lol.

The thing I don't get is... none of it really detracts from my enjoyment from the game (not like some of the perfectionists on here, anyway). Maybe it's because I've been gaming since bugs like this were common in AAA titles... these days a far higher bar is set by the industry in general. Have many of you played this multiplayer co-op with a mate yet? Honestly, this is the first way I played it, and still by far my favourite. We were dead set in stitches for hours at some of the shit that happens in this game. The bugs change from minor annoyance to gameplay feature/point of hilarity.

Is Bronson Harrison seriously the highest rated player in the game?

Seems really odd..

He's up there. But I think it's because he's high in stats that aren't particularly useful. He doesn't seem that awesome when you use him.

True. Signed him up in career mode and he didn't seem all that amazing. No more amazing then everyone else is on amateur anyhow.
Just felt like a really random player to give the highest rating to (that I've seen).

skeepe was the independent player rater.

The Knights got off very lucky, skeepe had them written down minus their reported value!

Player Ratings

Just thought I'd clear a few things up with regard to player ratings.

1. The same source for ratings that RLL2 uses has been used throughout the Rugby League series of games including those by Sidhe.

2. I believe that the ratings are reasonable and the balanced gameplay experience outside of Career mode reflects this as they are used as supplied without modification.

3. It is not so much an issue of incorrect ratings, as you can't just average attributes to come to a number, some attributes are more important than others. This is where the Career mode fails in this regard, the numerical representation of the attributes after year one. There may well be a bug that is screwing up some weightings of the individual attribute calculations in Career mode alone, we are looking into that.

Yeah the ratings in Career mode sh*t me. Doesn't matter what training I do or how many stars the trainers have.........every attribute of my players only goes up by 1 point.

Shillington has bombed a few tries on the wing..not sure why he loves the wing, its like once he is subbed in, Reece Robinson, switches to the front row.

Also Bronson Harrison is a gun in this game. I played this game during the demo testing that they had a month ago at JB HI FI. I only played one game and I even stated on this forum that he was an animal that ripped through tackles. Having played about 30 games as the raiders, he is easily the best player in the team, only slightly ahead of Ferguson.

I can't get much out of Harrison TBH. Breaks the odd tackle but is slow as f*ck.

The Raiders that work best for me are Dugan, Thompson and Fensom.

Luke Burt has a surprisingly good fend, never fails to beat his opposite winger one on one even when on Legend, seems legit.

I am slowly getting used to this.

What camera angle do you guys use? I switched to the wide angle broadcast view and that seems to have made the game a bit easier to play.

Might give it a crack. Haven't played with the angles much.

Would be nice to know who I'm passing the ball wide to sometimes.
