VR was brought in to quell the outrage of commentators. All its done is make them shift their outrage to the VR! Its a blight on the game but like social media and reality tv there is no putting the genie back in the bottle.
I think the poor commentary is also a result of the boring play we have now. There’s just not much to commentate about.

If the referee doesn’t see it and the player isn’t concussed and this not forcefully removed from the ground it should be play on.

So we go back to the ref calling out "milking" again when a serious incident occurs

Every time we think we know rugby league they change it to something that isn't rugby league and call it rugby league.
I worry what rugby league will be in 20 years. It'll probably be something played on a much smaller field with 11 a side with no knock ons, compulsory gladiator style padding, quick held calls with still archaic ruck grey areas and AI reffing making calls based on betting agency odds with commentators who troll fans because they think they know the game better than everyone.
Yeah I'm anxious about the next 2 months with no footy.

Maybe they can also have the LU matchday threads showing on the big screen at the grounds as well. With an MA rating and a watertight legal disclaimer.

The poor buggers wouldn't know what they got themselves into with all the crazy references we come up with here.

I’m in the analytics camp of teams going the short kick off almost every time. Chance to win the ball is worth giving up 20m in field position

The charge from the kick off/line drop out will be eliminated by the NRL either by this rule or something else.
It's an awesome part of the game seeing a player charging like a rhino into a brick wall but it's also got huge potential to go wrong with players getting knocked out cold.
Many won't agree but that's the reality.

FMD the NRL have lost the plot with the kickoff rule changes.
If they want to prevent the collision , the simple solution is any kick off that goes beyond the 20m line , the play commences for the 20m line with a normal 6 tackle set.

They’ve done more than enough eliminating the collision already

It’s a collision sport. They have done enough with rule changes, concussion protocols etc

Every moment of a rugby league game someone could die. Shit like this is pathetic
