They're in no hurry to sign further players. 12 players going and around 8 players in?

You don't know whats going on behind closed doors.
For all we know, we may have (and I wouldn't be surprised) had failed negotiations with players/agents. Possibly we're close to announcing someone else soon.

As hard as it is, let's not just assume the worst.

Mole reporting Motu Tony taking over recruitment from Iro, who will move into a coaching role
LOL LOL

Seriously, too funny.

I just wish they'd commit to the young halves - really poor that literally nobody can be developed into first grade at this joint - perfect opportunity to let them play a lot this season and the process didn't include development

Tony did a good job while with Hull I thought and would have a decent English network to work with. Considering our difficulty in luring Aussies over, it doesn't hurt to have someone with recent ESL experience in the mix.

Anything is better than Iro.

Major poster on the other forum is the saying the club has been sold and the new owner or owners are already having an influence on changes at the club. Will be announced at the fan forum next month, take from that what you will.

Agree anything is better than Iro... and that this is merely rearranging the deck chairs

What concerns me more and more is the lack of development, something fundamentally is wrong, and Kearney didn't address it at all, and by continuing with the Foran joke stifled any chance for the young halves to develop when the season was long gone

IF ...

Cronk was to go to Easts what would they do with their current halves or one of them?
Probably keep them - somehow the salary cap doesn't seem apply to the Roosters, Broncos and Melbourne.

Doubt they'd let Pearce go, but he could perhaps fit well with Johnson?

Still, without go forward (which we literally have none of) I am not sure it matters - and if we can't develop Hingano a first grader, it's just embarrassing - and to a degree Lino too

Pearce to Hooker, Keary @ 6, Cronk @ 7 and Jake Friend shown the door, he's not as effective as he once was.

But to echo your point, the salary cap doesn't apply to Roosters, Broncos and Melbourne

Paasi would be a great pick up as far as go forward goes, defence not so much.

Still, he would improve our pack and go forward so...cool.

Worth mentioning now it's being reported, that one of the 'other' props I had mentioned for some time was Sam Tagataese. Hasn't worked out as far as I'm aware.

There's still another propping option on the table (who we have made an offer to) but let's see.

Cheers Mix, I didn't think Paasi was off contract? Bit of a left field one. Hopefully this prop is under contract also, because there isn't much left on the market propping wise.

Paasi + an NRL level prop would give me a bit of hope for our forward pack. A 6 would be good, but I think that is a luxury considering our forward situation. Lets develop Hingano, and I'd chuck Luke or Roache in there as a left field option. Nathaniel showed massive promise this season, and has played 6 before.

Personally I'd just chuck Luke if we could use the money to sign a decent prop - he's shown so little it's not funny, and has mostly been effective in the past behind very big dominant packs (yes, every hooker is but his differential between that level and the rest is large)

Roache and Cherrington are the future, as is Hingano at 6... tired of short term crap the whole Foran debacle and the playing him when he wasn't up to it, and the season was gone - the same about finally giving Roache an opportunity - we could have finished in the same crappy position on the table and had Roache and Hingano develop some first grade experience...
