Id rather a couple of good second rowers too.
Surely that's an exaggeration. So according to Matty Johns on NRL on fox, Hayne is on $700K. He could and probably did pull that figure out or his arse however if true there is no way we could afford to upgrade more than that when he comes off contract
Surely that's an exaggeration.
In other signing news, Manly made bold steps towards retaining Foran with an upgraded deal.
On top of securing halfback Daly Cherry-Evans until 2015 last week, Manly officials have obtained additional third-party agreements that allowed them to compete with cashed-up Canterbury. They are also making innovative moves to further develop Foran's booming game with additional training support.
International back-rower Tony Williams now appears most likely to be squeezed out, with offers from Canterbury and Parramatta upping his asking price.
People on twitter are saying that Storm are promoting Cronk's presser today which suggests that he's staying in Mexico.

like how they hosted GI's presser and penrith did petero's?
oh wait........
http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sp...onk-announcement/story-e6frexnr-1226313227600MELBOURNE star Cooper Cronk will remain at the Storm for the rest of his career after this morning announcing a four-year-deal that will keep him at the club until the end of 2016. Cronk turned his back on a whopping $3.2 million deal from the Gold Coast Titans to stay alongside Cameron Smith and Billy Slater in Melbourne on a deal reported to be worth between $2 million and $2.5 million.
I reckon it's possible, even likely.
That's what the top players in the game are currently on. Why not Jarryd Hayne?
Should we deduct 25% off that figure?
Hehe ;-)
Anyways the Telepcrap is saying that he's playing for far less than what he was offered @ Titans. Does anyone really believe that ? He accepted up to $250k a season less to play with his mates ? I call bullshit on that.

Great post OMC, who knows what would have happened if Smith had of went to the Titans??? I still believe he is the glue that keeps that team together. Can't stand the prick but damn he is a brilliant player.Let's just assume for a moment that it actually IS true, then it just goes to show cheats really do prosper.
Simply cheat to bring a bunch of guys together, what the heck, win a couple of comps along the way. Sure, you might have them "technically" stripped from the record books, but all the fans and players still got the highs on grand final day (and it's not like someone else was installed as champion, therefore leaving you as 'stripped champs' in the record book).
If you actually get caught, there's only one quick season of misery while you can't play for competition points, and then after that all the superstars you really WANT to keep will sign for less to "play with their mates" [heck they already made their millions, who cares?] Gives them a great chance to win a "legal" premiership to go along with the illegal ones...
Can't wait until Smith/Cronk/Slater are done and we can judge the Storm as a legally assembled team again.
NRL has pathetic penalties on cheating teams. Dogs got a premiership 2 years after they cheated by keeping all the players they wanted. Storm look like they're a chance to do the exact same thing this season.
hot tip for the NRL front office: MAKE TEAMS OVER THE SALARY CAP PAY THE HARD WAY. That is, by losing players and having to pay them to play elsewhere.
