What's the latest with Mansour staying or leaving?

Waiting for the moment, till the domino's fall.
The Tigers have offered him a 2 years. He wants 3.
Has interest from the Dogs and Parramatta.
The Dogs want Addo-Carr (who I think goes to Souths) and they might make a play for him if they miss out on Addo-Carr.
With Parramatta it depends if they shift Ferguson on.

He has spent the past month training with Nick Cotric.

Internal issues?

Link was no Good when I saw it.

Ok Got it
....
It’s hard to comprehend that the Panthers, who are shaping as 2021 premiership favourites, would have issues. However, this column has heard O’Neill referred to as “Uncle Dave” because the players think he is trying to mimic the game’s most revered chairman, the Roosters’ Nick Politis.

The Roosters boss has a rare bond with his players and even those who leave the club rarely have a bad word to say about him.

O’Neill is a Panthers fan and sponsor who has risen through the ranks. It seems he wants to be seen as a Politis-type figure.

It has emerged that at the captain’s run on the day before the grand final, O’Neill went out of his way to deliver a speech to the players. It was heartfelt, but the players thought it was odd.

“It made us cringe,” one player said. “It was all this gladiatorial stuff about who we are representing. We know all of that. We know we play for the Penrith community and we are proud of that and don’t need reminding. We saw him walking up to us and were wondering what is going on here. The boys didn’t know what the point of it was.”

Making it worse, the team had already been through two other speeches. It’s worth noting that Politis wouldn’t do that before a grand final. After the loss, O’Neill hugged players – something Politis would also do – but the Panthers players don’t have that rapport with their boss.

O’Neill’s pat on the head for Cleary also grabbed their attention, as did his comments about the exit of Matt Burton. It wasn’t the comments themselves that raised eyebrows – that Penrith should be compensated for bringing through young talents who then move clubs – but that CEO Brian Fletcher had said the same thing a day earlier. It was seen as a grab for the limelight when the club really didn’t need to say any more.

I have heard that prominent solicitor Mark Mulock is seen as a possible Panthers chairman down the track. He is a Penrith man and his family has a rich tradition at the club, with his dad Ron a former Penrith mayor as well as being deputy premier of NSW. Mark is highly regarded by some powerful figures at Penrith.

O’Neill did not respond to requests for comment.

There’s rumours Crichton wants 800k?!

The problem with all this is we could’ve upped our offer for Burton with some of the money Crichton is demanding and told Crichton to walk if Burton signed.

Blade has already said they would not be paying 750k so 800 is not going to happen. No problems get him in the office 1week to sign if no sign see you later move on the next lot of important players

o Neil story
I think they are desperate for a story when they link him to
Cleary tick tok
Naden drugs
These are individual choices made by the players no fault of management or coaching staff
On his speech to the players .Bad choice less is better with footballers .Hopefully he learns from this and his role is background and he will be better served in that role

No. Dean Ritchie had an article claiming a rival recruitment manager valued him at $750k. In his opinion, Penrith may have to stump up that amount.
Just journo speculation or manager trying to drive up the price through the media.

I don't believe that we will pay that, or anything near that.

The trouble is, I don’t think he’s worth more than 500-550k right now, but by the end of next season, I reckon he could easily be a 750-800 player.
So what do we do? It’s a lot of cap space.

Hopefully we are trying to wrap him up for three more years at 650 maybe 700. I believe that would be smart.

If someone wants to pay 750-800, I say let him go and make a big play for Staggs.

No centre is worth 750-800k, especially with the salary cap reduction.

The only thing I’d consider is giving him an incentive if he can make the NSW origin team at fullback.
