With Burton it all hinges on being able to find someone else to play centre & half. If we can’t, you keep him.

If the Dogs don’t have a centre that interests us, maybe they can organise a three way swap? But the ball is in their court if they want Burton.
Very hard to organise with the NRL system but yeah im not sure the Dog have anything that can help us

Someone on dogs site claiming offers have been put in for Crighton and Yeo.

I suppose this type of thing will continue. Clubs wanting to get elite players willing to pay over for them.

It's off season folks LOL

I would have loved to get that front rower Alvaro from parra .parra where looking to offload him .might have got him at a reasonable price
Lol don’t know why any anyone would want him he is a plodder
There’s a reason we sent him to the warriors last year

Not sure playing him at centre suits us. Need to develop one

Who plays right centre to start the year? Burton is good enough to step in there and do the job if he’s got all off season to prepare for it, he’s talented enough that he could be a gun at centre next year imo.

We need some time to develop someone new, and next season we should be contending so Burton right now looks like the best option we available. Naden is gone for a chunk of the season or gone for good, Whare struggled for impact for a while now and it’s going to get worse for him.

Averillo fits the bill but it’s not really a beneficial trade for us, we are still giving up the better player. The CEO said something like they will only release these guys if they get offered a deal that’s highly in our favour. Maybe Averillo and Wakeham would be enough, but then we are committing cap space to them, we might be better off hanging on to Burton and seeing what comes up over the next twelve months.

I’m happy for them to play hardball with Burton at least. If we keep him he will likely play some FG for us next year and it’s possible he will be in the top 17 to start the year, I don’t think he’d be in a rush to get to the dogs. Laurie is a bit different as he is further down the depth chart and we could potentially use him to improve our depth at centre where we are quite thin or maybe get a middle to round out our depth there.

There is no way they give us Averillo, that kid is a freak! We would be mad not to jump on that deal.

I’ve never noticed to much from him tbh, I know there is wrap on him but I don’t think he is half as talented as Burton.

The whole point is if they want Burton early they are going to have to give up someone who is good, not just a couple plodders.

Averillo is very good, he should have been playing 6 for them all year.

If he gets a full year in the halves, Burton could well find himself stuck behind him. He was an absolute gun coming through the Jnrs.

Mate Burton’s not getting stuck behind anyone. If they thought averillo was a gun half they wouldn’t of signed two young nrl halves.

He is the one I think makes Burton play in another position when he gets there

You forget that they also extended Averillo for three seasons in October, he also has more experience than Burton and will have a 12month head start. Averillo is a very talented player.

He will only have a 12 month head start if we don’t release Burton. They are trying to spend more to get Burton early don’t forget, multiple request to panthers now. It all adds up to suggest they don’t see averillo as a gun half. I’m not saying he isn’t talented but their halves were shit house why couldn’t he crack them if he is such a gun half? They have him listed as an outside back on his profile.

He plays other positions that they were short in. He was a half coming through, but got his break in the NRL in the centre’s / wing.

He injured his ankle when they finally decided to give up on Lewis, Marshall, Wakeham and Foran.

Is he still injured? Cause it doesn’t explain why they are so keen to get Burton now.
