You'll get a mix of opinions. I think most would admit he's got the potential to be a solid first grader. Question marks are about whether he's there now and whether he'll be more than that. He definitely doesn't make our first team and is probably our 4th choice winger at this point.

Mentioned it above, but imo he's pretty good under the high ball and good coming out of his own end. Weakness is errors (see his bombed try last night).

Decent signing for your mob imo.
A solid player. Room for improvement, but a player with loads of potential. Watch him this year with us. He will improve with each game under his belt.

Cheers boys.

He will definitely get a run with us next year we are pretty thin in the wing stocks. He should walk into Montoya's starting role.

Up the arse of Petetr Tunks who said sauce was looking to leave late last year.

Former international Peter Tunks claims Kangaroos winger Josh Mansour is also looking around, hinting at problems with coach Anthony Griffin.

“The word is Mansour wants out after the World Cup,” Tunks told his 2SM radio audience this week.

To be fair Sauce himself said he was probably leaving.

What's currently unknown is what changed his mind.

Did we match what other teams offered?
Were there offers lower than expected?
Did he take a reduced salary to stay?

Theres a good chance his injuries reduced what teams were offering him. Or hopefully for his sake we managed to get him on ~$600k with very little on the cap between the long service money and TPAs.

He deserves a decent wage. Works hard on and off thr firld. Hes a great role model and a fan favorite

I wouldn't hold that try against him.

Not last December he didn't. Tunks implied he was going after last years world cup with a year to run on his contract.

I think the injury to his face played a part in us keeping him. Probably kept the silly offers down a bit.
He never wanted to leave though.

I'd be willing to bet Brown retiring changed things.

Why OP? He would have been on a low salary and we probably still need to recruit an experienced prop next year to replace him in the squad.
Maybe McKendry's is going. He would be the only other player at this club eligible for the long serving discount.

Wow. Just saw Crichton has joined the Bulldogs. They are supposedly f**ked under the cap and need to release a few big names just to fill the rest of thrir squad with minimum wage players.

Surprised we couldnt match that. Maybe he's hoping to get Bmoz wing spot. Not sure what depth they have now

Looks like Christian Crichton has signed with the Dogs.

Hard to believe they could afford him??

All the best anyway! Good young kid, deserves to stay in 1st grade. Hopefully the Dogs sort their shit out.

Even if he was on minimum wage that $85k -$100k a year. That's a fair bit to top up a contract and Mansour would be easy to find TPAs for at this point.

No we absolutely do not buy a prop. We have the pack now and transitioning perfectly from Tamou/Merrin > RCG/JFH > Hetherington/Leota and reserve grade developing quality to come along behind them.

Good signing for the Dogs and for Crighton. He will get more opportunity there.

2019 We have at the back - Mansour, Phillips, DWZ and Edwards. I'm pretty satisfied with that.

Look to hear about McKendry retiring soon. Just a thought. That long service discount and a potential job post footy is probably what got Mansour across the line.

So much for all the pundits who said he was looking to get out. The Coach has lost the dressing room etc. It is either all resolved as we are wining or was a complete load of bull droppings.....

Supposedly on $150k a season despite their CEO saying they needed to cut guys just to fill a 30 man roster with minimum wage players.

Great money for Crichton on current form. But for a 3 year deal he could be screwing himself if he does find form.

Bulldogs are going to have a pretty average roster next year. Cant see them finishing above 12th.

I doubt affording him is an issue, he wouldn’t be expensive and they need to fill roster spots.

Their real issue is they don’t have the room for big name signings.

Is Phillips staying? I thought he was on a 1 year deal.

McKendry is gone. Gus said so on his podcast.
