I must admit to being a little toey about the gun players who remain unsigned.

I do understand that these things take time, patience and effort to happen.

Just gotta learn to be patient and enjoy the experience.

Going to be interesting about Tamou and Jack and what plays out here.

I just think what reason does x player have to leave

I think we are all accepting of the fact we can’t keep everybody, were going to have to let some go however painful. Tamou is probably a key, I think there would be no shortage of clubs who would be willing to give him a two or three year deal on more money than we can offer. I guess if Tamou stays then jack probably goes or potentially both could go it is obvious we have to free up space somewhere.

Projecting ahead as Matt Cameron would be doing I’m sure he has had discussions with a number of players off contract in 2021 who we simply will not be in any position of re-sign. Josh Mansour would be the most high profile, who knows he may be looking to continue his career beyond 2021 so perhaps there may be an option there for his management to explore opportunities. Billy Burns may be another who would be looking for better opportunities.

Lots of our props off contract at the end of next year, hopefully we can take our pick of which ones we want to keep.

Hetherington
Leniu
Tamou
Tetevano

(I’m sure you know this, just posting for general info)

Lenui they are in negotiations now to extend. High priority.

Tetevano has been good. Very good off the field with training. Helping a few players out. He pushes others to train harder and makes sure they don't cut corners. You can see the way the Roosters do things in him. Very professional.
Tamou and Hetherington could go either way at the moment.
Tamou wants to stay but terms are an issue.
There was some talk if Tamou goes we would look to bring in a low key prop. Someone that has experience and could play half a dozen games should we need it.
Interesting how it will play out.

From what your saying money comes into it too. Good to know that there is a backup plan if needed re Tamou. I've enjoyed what Zane has brough to the team too.

I assume Tamou and Mansour are the only players who qualify for the long term player allowance. Probably a year or two away before the likes of Yeo would become eligible. We are such a young side even the longer serving players have only been on the scene since 2015/2016 so short of the 8 years required to take advantage of the allowance.

Just checked Wikipedia Isaah Yeo started 1st grade in 2014 but was at the club before then. When does the 8 year at the one club commence when a player starts there Nrl career or when they come to the club. Obviously we need to capitalise on the $200k long serving player allowance given we have only two players eligible three if Yeo meets the criteria next year?

I thought Dean Whare would too?

Old mate Russell Packer would fit the bill nicely. I think Ivan has his number saved.

They keep tinkering with the criteria. Talk it could change again.
As it stands If the player has been developed by the club those years count before debut. Starting from the under 20' s competitions.
If they haven't been developed by the club its 8 years from debut year.
