Sorry, the luck we have had signing the younger brothers of someone elses star player hasn't necessarily paid off......

Jamie Mahon, Daniel Brown, Matt Lockyer.... off the top of my head to start with we haven't done well outside of Nathan Hindmarsh.

Graham Wynn's brother went ok Big C

Four Sydney clubs are locked in a bidding war for Cronulla winger Blake Ferguson. The Roosters are favoured to win the signature of the talented youngster but his manager, Solomon Haumono, yesterday indicated the decision was far from final. Parramatta, Canterbury and Manly have weighed in with big offers for the 20-year-old. ''Everybody is thinking he is going to the Roosters but the other clubs have put forward some very attractive offers,'' Haumono said. ''We will have to weigh it up, it's not going to be an easy or simple decision.'' The late offers from the other three clubs makes a decision unlikely this week.

I dunno why, but I'd really like us to get Ferguson.

Really talented and superb finisher - and genuine height under the bomb!

I'd love to have Ferguson, however i'd be pretty hesitant to throw alot of cash at him. The kid's still young, developing and inconsistent. Remember Mortimer? Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the kid...But 250k:S

As talented as the guy is, we don't need him at all. With Sio and Loko in the NYC. We should be focusing on only halves maybe a front rower (John Mannah) or a backrower and definitely a hooker too. If we can't get these positions filled, then we should save our money and front load some contracts. This would be a brilliant tactic(the Dogs used it last year) and heaven help us we will need it in the next year or two when upgrades to some of our lesser paid players in our club start demanding it.

We need to be smarter about the way we do things. Winger would be my fu*king last concern. This club produces thousands of them and it is the one position in the team that does NOT need years of NRL experience for the player to be able to handle it. What the hell are we thinking?

Great work Ram..... but I think Ferguson is being pursued as a Center, not just as a winger.

I'd love Blake Ferguson at the club....
But only and ONLY if the following criteria are satisfied:

1. Eric Grothe Jnr leaves (do not want that to happen obviously)
2. He will stop being a d**khead and 'mature' with us.
3. He signs a good, long and not too expensive deal (DA's policy on wingers).
4. We actually try to keep him and develop him or w/e.

If Guru does leave and we don't sign Tuiaki (or perhaps we do-he might not play again after all, or we might gradually ease him into it) then I'd love him at the club...
Great talent, and we can play him at centre or wing-so we can push Reddy to wing and him to centre if we want. Would actually work out if Guru leaves, signing him and Tuiaki....

HOWEVER!
We need a halfback first and foremost, or someone to give proper tutelage to our current halves (and also develop this young Marmin Barba we have apparently signed-he's a haflback also, as well as Tom Humble of course). I'm quite happy with Matt Keating at hooker, as he has showed glimpses of his 2009 form this year and hopefully will do well after this season. We also need a backrower or another main prop (so we can decide where Shane Shackleton goes). After all this, then yeah I'd love him here....if he keeps his mouth shut.

Nah, it was the year before, when SBW left, they used the space to pay out Ryan and Patten for 2009. The NRL then made it illegal I think.

Chief Executive Paul Osborne has confirmed the club's interest in New Zealand international Taniela Tuiaki, who is set to be released by Wests Tigers because of an ankle injury. "It would be pending a medical but yeah, we'd be happy to look at him," Osborne says.

I heard on the 'other' site that he was actually a bloody good player......
Do you guys think he will be a fringe prop or our replacement for Cayless?
Obviously Manoukafoa is a reserve prop, and if this guy isn't up to scratch like you guys are saying then who do you think we should look at? Is there any quality replacement left, because at the moment (even though we played like sh*t on Saturday) we do have one of the best prop rotations in the competition.......

how many of these guys have ever seen him play? it's pretty easy to talk a player up, but whether they have any foundations for these thought is anyones guess.
