You don't seriously think they'd get investigated again do you?

I hadn't really thought about it, tbh.

I reckon everyone assumes they'll do the right thing for a while.

Yeah, I certainly do.

And even if they're found out, to penalize them in the same way again would cripple the club --> can't do that in an area we're trying to expand the game.

Sad but true. That's why they've been allowed to pick up this year with their superstars and their perfectly balanced squad, as though nothing happened.

I still maintain they didn't get a stern enough penalty for cheating.

Agree totally. They should have been hit so hard with salary cap penalties that they wouldn't be competitive for another 5 years.

But as you say, it wouldn't be good for the game's foray into Melbourne.

Did anyone hear sports Sunday this morning? Apparently dean Ritchie told zorba that we were close to signing someone from England but the person who told me couldn't catch the name of the player...

If it is Pippa Middleton to the cheer squad - sign me up for season tickets on the half way next year.

Haven't we learned from our recruitment last year...

Ritchie was talking about Mark O'Meley, another up and comer

This club's recruitment of has-beens is becoming a joke

Only Casey Maguire has proven to be a success, the rest have been dismal failures
Ohhh nooo.
The Matt King rumor is still getting around too, thought it may have been about him.

O'Meley wouldn't come cheap either. He's a highly experienced rep player who would probably want about 300k a year. We don't need more props on that kind of money. We wouldn't even be able to fit them all in first grade.

Unless he is desperate to get out of English weather and settle for a little less.

Front row is one position we have reasonable depth in, stress the word reasonable and not great, especially if Poore comes back to reasonable form, Poore in for Shackleton.

Would be good to see the chasing a centre, backrower and hooker

or if we are looking at playing Shackleton in the second row next year, opening a spot for prop

That's what I think. Definately an outside back whether it be a winger or centre. With Mitchell gone and Casey's future still up in the air definately need another hooker. And a wide running backrower should be the priorities before more props.

I'd rather run with a pack of

8. Mannah
9. MK
10. Fui
11. Hindmarsh
12. Smith
13. Maitua

with Shacks and Poore our bench props, and Webb a depth prop
with Horo bench back rower

That's only taking account players we have under contract for next year, who knows whether Lasalo or Allgood will be re-signed but it would be silly to chase another big money front rower at the expense of more important positions.

Maguire is a perfect sub with ability to play 9, 6 or 7. Not sold on Shackleton, dont see him as a backrower either, he has no variety in his game. Ben Smith has 2 many mistakes in his game and still dont know if Lasalo is the real deal. A fit Reni on the left hand fringes will add some variety but we need more. Definitely need a right centre if Reddy is going, got me stuffed y we didnt chase Idris with all the money we have available or Beau Champion for the matter

Maguire is yet to re-sign even though it will be good if he does. Even then we really need another utility who can play in the number 9 because injuries will occur. Shacks is no world beater but he serves his purpose as a bench prop. He makes his metres and tackles hard. Agree with the rest of your points.

maybe we have because both Spag and Ossie knew nothing about it, in fact spag said that as far as he know we're not negtoiating with anyone from England.

Well at the very least at least the club has learned something about preventing leaks which is a positive. The fact that Ossie and Spags have learned to keep their mouths shut sets the example for the rest of the staff.
