But Casper, I highly doubt the club officials would enter a footy forum to deny a rumour - they probably could not be bothered. And in the event that they were true, coming on a forum and confirming it to fans could cause a few headaches (assuming that it was a secret or at least to be kept quiet).

To fix the Salary cap pressure at Storm with many excellent juniors coming through like Widdop, getting the bigger $$$ and seeing they have Ryan Hinchcliffe and two promising Toyota Cup hookers in Krys Freeman and can't remember the other fellas name, they probably have had to let go of Cameron Smith. Ryan Hinchcliffe starting the game last week against Tigers may be telling us something as well!!!!

I thought that as well - but he has played 80 minute NRL games straight after origin heaps of times.

From what I could see Ryan wasn't injured either.

And yes, we can read anything we want into anything just to garnish our points of view - I'm not saying I am right about about Cameron joining the Eels either - am just looking at extenuating situations/events/circumstances that may indicate a move from the Storm.

I'll admit I was very surprised when Hinchcliffe re-signed with the Storm. Surely some other club more in need of a hooker could have offered him more money.

You don't seriously think they'd get investigated again do you?

I reckon everyone assumes they'll do the right thing for a while. And even if they're found out, to penalize them in the same way again would cripple the club --> can't do that in an area we're trying to expand the game.

I still maintain they didn't get a stern enough penalty for cheating.
