I'll wait to see him play within Penrith' systems before giving him grief.

My memory isn't great.....Is it the same folks who wrote off Alamotti, Garner and the like before that actually played a game in Penrith's colours.......I wonder.

I’ve no idea what school boy ranking system you’re looking at, but in 22 he was “that Kid” at Westfield that everyone was talking about at all of the Carnivals.

He was definitely one of the stand out players when ever I watched that team.

Any way, my point is, the hype is real and deserved. Now he has to put his head down and take his opportunity.

The DT one that rates 50 guys all years

Yes and my point is hype means f**k all it is what they do one the field that matters

And you like to argue for the sake of it and go back as far as you want. For every star kid that kicks on there are a handful of ones who don't

The Daily Telegraph….. enough said.

You like to inject yourself into conversations when you have f-all idea what’s going on.

Muga was saying that he didn’t believe the hype and I’ve been saying that although it means nothing, he does deserve the media attention, or “Hype” that he’s been getting because he’s always played well.

well is that not hype? I would say that a major newspaper rating players at a Schoolboy carnival is building up hype

So you are seriously trying to say that every single player that has ever been hyped up has in fact been good?

BS i never wrote off almotti, I was genuinely happy we got him, saw his progress in cup after that and was glad we had a guy that just needed a tune up on his latteral defence, plus he was a noted goal kicker, which came in bloody handy, especially when nate was injured,
I did give Garner grief, but not coz he was shit, I reckon he was ok, just good, but not our "solution to centre" that everyone kept crapping on here about, it was all about the "well he had played centre at the tigers, so he can do it for us" and I'm like tigers are a shit club, he made them look better, but he ain't gonna be one of our centres... I also rate Scotty too hotty and Martin way ahead of him gor backrow, so he was never getting a starting spot when they are fit...
And with Talagi, it's again a case of parra also being a shithouse club, but he was terrible there so, where the fk is all the hype coming from

When did I say every single player? Ash Taylor is certainly a good example. Was hugely rated coming into grade, had several clubs chasing him, signed a big deal and flopped.

In my opinion, that happens less than players kicking on and making good careers.

Plenty of kids look good at school and then for what ever reason don’t get picked up.

Blaize had a few clubs fighting for his first big real contract. That’s what I consider “Hype”.

He has not played well, that's absolute BS

He hasn't played well for the most part, but he has shown that he is very talented. Talented in a shit team is a different proposition than talented in a good team. I don't think anyone thinks he will stroll in and pick up where Luai left off, but who knows what Ivan & co will do for him.

I am not sure about the last part. I can't speak for others but I am taking a measured approach because no matter how talented the kid is they usually are hit and miss.

Seems if you are on that side of the fence it is the minority

I suggest you look at the Australian Schoolboys teams across the last 20 years if you think Ash Taylor is an outlier

Correct he was an Australian Schoolboy so of course will be chased BUT looking at just his own side there were others more hyped.

Sanders as a direct comparison

Won Parra SG Ball player of the year
Was man of the match for NSW u19's - A game Talagi didn't make.

Also chased by multiple clubs.

Also a possible starting half but like Talagi is more a 2026 starter

I agree. Sanders is in the same boat, he’s just signed his 1st decent contract, what’s your point?
