paulo has a place in this team, but i think being an additional dimmension of attack off the bench is where he would be better suited than starting.

he has ability, and i think playing when the game slows down would be better suited to his ability, style of play and mental application as he would be more likely to then be able to create opportunities for support players, as well as not be fatigued himself compared to most other players when he is fresh.

there's enough there in those 3 alone + cap increases and 3rd parties to afford a marquee or even tariq.

the other 2 spots just get filled by our next crop getting their debuts

I agree we should be able to afford Sims by replacing all the top 25 players we let go with guys on minimum salary. Whether that includes Sio and/or Paulo is what I'm keen to see. I assume we'll keep Gower.

But the rise in the salary cap will have no bearing on our ability to recruit/retain relative to other NRL clubs.
