Well... you inferred Twizz couldn't be both

I said Twiz might not have much experience with leadership after he had a go about my first comment. If he thinks you need to be smart to be a good leader then I stand by my comment.

And I'm sure Twizzle is a good manager.

We are a strange lot, if we signed Thurston , there would be conjecture he was too old, not a leader, in the way of younger players, gets found out in defence

Let me see, we have a Chance to sign an experienced SOO forward, plays at least 20 games per season, is tough, hates losing and is a bit of a merkin

Nah, don't want him :):)

The reason I don't want him is that he has reached the age where injuries could very well start to plague him. For the price we are probably paying, that might not be a very good business transaction.
The reasons I would want him would be: 1.) He has been a f**king good player over the years, and 2.) Brad Arthur would know him pretty well and would know more than anyone else what he is worth. At this stage of proceedings I trust Arthurs judgement, but I still concede that it is a bit of a gamble.

Hitler was an amazing leader! How he convinced millions of people to follow him and his ideals was astounding.

This.

Hitler was insane and sociopathic, but he was extremely charismatic, and he had Germany eating out of the palm of his hand.

Say what you want about the man, but he was an amazing leader.

Watmough for 2 yrs would be great deal. For 3 it would be risky.Pending on what we offer him.Surely we are not as desperate as we where 2 years ago and shouldnt be having to offer silly money as we potentially could have better players developing already at the club. You would think BA would know his age and the fact he is slowing down when they prepare there offer.

This is pretty much how I feel about us signing him too. Sure he's been a standout player over his career but I'm not doing cartwheels over the prospect of him coming but I do have faith in BA etc.

Exactly. Look at Stephen Kearney. Oh, hang on. Was he a manager or a leader?
He was a f**king amateur... but Pou wouldn't believe it until the other NRL clubs didn't offer Kearney a head coach gig afterwards. The rest of us (of course) could see the proof much earlier on the paddock, in the consistently underperforming first grade squad Kearney was responsble for.

So we're concerned he MIGHT sit on the sidelines because of injury? We shouldn't sign or re-sign anyone then because they MIGHT get injured or suspended and sit on the sidelines.

Watmough for 2 years starting next season would be fine. The 3rd year is a worry, and should be an option in the club's favour at a reduced amount.

They didn't start underperforming until Hayne got injured in the 2012 pre-season. In 2011 they performed to expectations.

Great to see you back Casper and I'm sure that movie is interesting but I don't have 3 hrs right now to watch it. Several years ago I met Hans Frank's grandson who had been raised as a Nazi. Being the grandson of Polish immigrants auctioned as slaves to German farmers during the war it was interesting hearing the other side from someone who's Grandfather was the Governor General of Poland (basically the man responsible for what happened to my grandparents) and was killed during the Nuremberg trials. He was convinced that his grandfather was a victim also.

He still doesn't believe it
