Shame, would have been good here, Tigers building nicely, they should game a play for RcG

The Wests Tigers have reportedly made another move on the free agency market, adding powerhouse outside back Jeral Skelton to their contract list for 2025.
Strong ball runner and tackle breaker but takes about 3 years to get back to his feet and play the ball once he's on the ground.

Masked Panther: Why Panthers hunted Talagi’s signature

Talagi locked in

Penrith confirmed on Monday what was known almost two weeks ago, being that Blaize Talagi will join the club from Parramatta next season.

He’s signed a three-year deal.

There’s plenty of rumours doing the rounds that Penrith see the 19-year-old as a five-eighth and therefore as a replacement for Jarome Luai. But plenty of water will go under the bridge before a ball is kicked in Las Vegas next March.

One thing is certain – the Panthers felt they needed to go outside the club to lock up stocks in their backs for next year, particularly when you consider Luai, Taylan May and Sunia Turuva won’t be there in 2025.

As per Blade's mail.

Eisenhuth close to new deal

Matt Eisenhuth is hopeful of locking in a new deal with Penrith before the end of the season. He’s been in negotiations with the club about extending his stay. He certainly hasn’t let anyone down this season, called upon to fill plenty of gaps during an injury-strained run for Ivan Cleary’s side.

Tries hard but too slow around the ruck, gives away silly penalties and for the size of the guy doesn't cart the ball up with any real venom.Im happy to let him go we need a younger front rower with leg speed the game has changed.

Probably signed because there isn't much out there to bring in.

Ionghi has become a target for Eels. Is he any good? Looked ok other day but not heard much about him.
Very good footwork, good speed off the mark (like his first 5 or so steps). Is quick enough but not really explosive after that. Very strong for his size, breaks a lot of tackles, energetic takes a lot of runs. Can ball play, seen him look out the back and pass short, double pump, throw some decent long passes/cut outs and quick hands just talking about ability.

He doesn't ball play a whole lot like a Latrell or a Drinkwater type of fullback is more of a runner and a tackle breaker and has some ball playing in his back pocket.

Makes sense for.him to move on. He is 3rd string at Penrith
Laurie will demand a top 17 spot. Unsure where he plays.
How do people rate J.Mclean against Casey?
I don't see Casey being dropped next year after another off season. I reckon losing May was a blessing in disguise. It enabled Talagi coming and he can play more positions.

Edwards
Too
Tago
C.Mclean
Laurie/Alamoti/J.Mclean
Blaize / Cole
Cleary

Good game last night considering these few reasons as to why we lost....by 2 points mind you.

1. Smith and MG jnr in the second row staring (Smith ain't a backrower and MG isn't a first grader)

2. Dubious call on the first try..the second try alot of teams wouldn't have been given due to the touch on Edwards by Nas.

3. Alot of errors by us. Kenny played shocking, gave away alot of dumb penalties again.

4. Had a pretty average bench.

5. Dane on the wing instead of Turuva.

6. Cleary injury in crunch time

7. Fisher Harris (late hit) as Vossy said JT copped 250 of those for 0 pens.

I'm one for not overly minding a loss but storm had majority of the rub and to only go down by 2 points to a shocking call.

Harsh on MG2, he is going fine. Not ready for 80 yet, but cant blame him for that.

1st try I agree, 2nd one was fine. I would be pissed if we had that taken off us.

Fish hit was a penalty, we would be howling if reversed. Just one of those things, my problem with it was the non penalty for the high shot on Nath in the in goal. No consistency.
