I think a lot of that comes down to how much belief Fitz has in Dykes and if we genuinely sees him as a fullback or 5/8 that will be ready to cement that spot in the next 12/18mths

Wow. That’s a huge increase.

Surely that means we’ve got marquee money available. We’ve announced most of our retention, so it’s not like we were having to wait for salary cap clearance for that, so we must still be under the 9.6. There’ll no doubt be plenty who have the old ratchet clause, but you’d expect we’re left with a big old chunk spare.

I see Clint Newton and the RLPA still aren’t happy though - maybe Clint feels he needed to be front and centre of any launch. What a set of bellends. V’landys wouldn’t be far wrong if he just sacked the RLPA off - let’s see if the players fancy walking away from NRL and the new salary cap.

I’d say existing contracts would have clauses in them to raise with the cap so the jump is not as big as you would assume(but would still be decent)
