They’re a desperate club, desperate for some positive media coverage, and panicked by the whole ‘window is closing’ narrative.
I’m really not sold on Brown, he’s far too flakey - looks good 1 week, then anonymous for 3. I think they maybe have done a ‘Brookesy’ here - a risk of losing a few ‘stars’ so throw everything at 1 of them to get some good news, but lumber themselves with a very expensive dud, long term.
