3 more years. Calling it that this doesn’t end well.
He backed himself to be a starting half. Still young. If he went to the dolphins or tigers he’d be in the 13 every week.
For a back up he is one of the best

My response may come across as a bit harsh and it’s well known I’m not a fan.

My opposition to him doesn’t come from an angle of hate, I think some bullet points sum it up.

- Until he starts or doesn’t play he will still be on bench and I think most agree that’s not working
- So far I don’t see him as a gun half for the future which I think we need to win a comp
- He isn’t on minimum wage so feels like a waste even as a back up
- Needs to learn quick how to manage a game, kicked a field goal down by 2 doesn’t show sharp awareness
- With Dykes and Penrith kid in the ranks I dont see where he Fitz in the plan
- 2025 is a long way away, a year too long imo

Hope I’m wrong.

From a different perspective.

- Trindall is 23 with 37 NRL games (several of those off the bench). In 2 years, he will be at the experience level to manage games. It takes time to be a quality half at NRL level. Very few can do that early in their career.
- Right now there is too big a gap between his best and worst. He can be erratic and try too hard. Patience comes with experience.
- He has a quality kicking game at his best and right now is the only other player apart from Hynes who can play 7. Puru and Dykes can't play 7. Now, they may end up being better players and if so, will jump Trindall in the pecking order.
- He is a solid tackler who needs work on reading/communicating.
- Biggest succession issue is who takes 6 from Moylan. Puru, Dykes and Trindall are in the mix and it is good to have competition and options.

It seems clear that Fitz's strategy is to secure the core of the squad, develop their experience as a finals team then cherry pick the quality players to go to the next level in 24 and 25. For this to work, you need players who take leaps forward to become top quality (like Hynes did last year). Hopefully, Trindall does that.

I’ve got a feeling the succession plan is Trindall 7, Nicho 6 and Dykes 1.

Long term Trindall 7, Dykes 6 and Taukamo 1.

But that’s 5-6 years away depending on Nicho.

I’m thinking our forwards are more talk than action. The likes of Teig ,Nickora , Toby , Williams and probably Kafusi will put in but Hunt and BHU need big seasons. Dale is great but cannot play big minutes.
‘I’m loving our backs and the choices we have. But we must find a dynamic fullback. Times up WK. I hate saying that but we need to make the top 4 this season.

Always been a Tricky fan and still think he has the potential to be a very good half. As others have said....can the bench idea and give him full games whether that be in firsts or for Newie. Will only develop his game management if he plays 80 mins each week. Most other clubs would give their left nut to have a backup player like him. Also while Moyza had a great year last year he’s still very fragile and another year older.

Frenzy.

Might happen as soon as Moylan leaves/breaks down/retires

That's kind of how I'm seeing it.
Moylan got 2 years, but I can see him being eased out and Trindall given more time, bringing phase 1 of the plan in sooner rather than later.

Phase 2 we'll have to wait and see.
