Butcher gets 1-2 weeks for his hip drop and DF got 3-4.

Question: How TF do they decide what constitutes the different gradings? I though NB's one was copybook hipdrop on Nikora where as DF's seemed more incidental given the conditions and the fact he came from infront of the Warriors players and slid off the back of him.

By all means crack down on the guys who deliberatly drop when momentum is stopped, but imo guys who slip down, often when they are falling of the player, shouldn't be a penalty.

If Nikora hadn't have stayed down wouldn't have been a penalty and wouldn't be a suspension.

Nikora last year and Dale shouldn't be suspensions either.

Butchers type of tackle was intended. You can see him swivel his body to the left knowing Nikora will fall forward. Butchers thigh or hip will then fall onto Nikora’s ankle. Lucky for both of them there was no real damage. If there was season ending injury it could have been the season for both.
Also if this type of tackle has been so ‘ok’ in the past why are we now seeing it injuring players? Are coaches ok with it or do they leave it to the assistants , in a ‘I know nothing ‘ scenario . To me it’s like the old ‘head high’ tackle , one minute the ball carrier is running ,the next minute he is flying through the air horizontally. Why did the Roosters cop so many penalties . Answer. Because they were doing dumb stuff , most of it intentionally. Why because the coaching staff told them to.

the only thing tha saved nikora was the fact butcher lost his grip, if his hand didnt slip nikora would be gone for a while

He is only 21 has some size off contract end of 2024, has plenty of competition, if we lose Teig would be worth having a crack at getting this guy
