You cant just offload players because you feel like it Stake. They have to agree to it.

Why would drags take on Dale to help us get AFB.

We're a pretty closed shop in regards to negotiations unlike in the past. Wouldn't surprise me if the negotiations aren't further along than what we think. The fact the Dogs and Tigers have pulled out supposedly is a positive. Just thinking... If we thought Dale was worth $750k... What is AFB worth? Can build a pack around him imo.

He is on a million a year at the Warriors for 24 & 25. He cannot be paid more than that by any other club. The 4.5 Million deals thrown around suggest clubs are offering 1.25 for the final 2 years, unless the offer is for 25 and onwards, then it is 1.17 over 3 years.
So the 2 important questions:

Is he what we need? Yes.
Is he worth that? That's the big question.

That is a fair chunk of change to be carrying. We copped it with Fifita, copping it this year with Dale. Next year he is friendly, next year we have a lot of players off contract and will need a squad re-jig.

We have the money, don't let anyone tell you differently.

What i found most interesting in regards to AFB was they talked of him but nothing was really said.
No scoops to be told, no headlines to be had etc.

Yeah, Riccio is a good sharks man - he wouldn’t blow our cover, just to get the story…. He’s happy to hold his powder until the deal is over the line - easily the best NRL journo out there.

Difference is Riccio isn't a headline hunter like Buzz....silence is golden on this one. The fact Sifa is his cousin and he's tight with Ronnie and Britt would have to be in our favour. The that he's limited to Sydney clubs is also a big plus. Rules out the big back ended contracts that the Dolphins and other clubs may throw at him. It seems that it's likely a decision will be made in the off-season is a positive as I see the Goons improving under Flanno next year.
