Ronnie should and can go. Point scoring machine but a player that could lose a premiership. Opposition get under his skin, defence suspect and loves a brain explosion.
Yes he will possibly kick on, but wants a pay day so take it - best of luck to him.
100% agree with this

absolutely not bothered if he goes, in fact I’d rather him go than Katoa.

Ronnie at center. Stonestreet on the wing. Could be a disaster defensively tho. It’s the off season what do I know?……..

It's off season and I have become comfortably numb (and loving it).

I've been feeling a bit sorry for NRL players at the moment. How they stand up to the rigors of a full season (what is it 27 rounds) throw in Finals and now International Round Robins.

Got to catch up to a few of them eventually.

They (the NRL and clubs) definitely get their pound of flesh out of the players.

Could Ronnie play fullback?

This got floated earlier in the year.
While it would be interesting to try, it blocks Dykes and Ison.
If we were to go that way, it would only be a short-term solution IMHO.
Then what happens to Ronnie?

Ronnie > Katoa.
Is the heart and soul of the team. Don't believe me? Have a closer look at team huddles.

Ronnie -> re-signed 2-3 years.
Katoa -> sorry, but you're free to look around.

I hope Ronnie stays but I rate Katoa higher than him. Katoa and Raimen had the best defensive edge in the NRL this season. Ronnie comes screaming in often and is 9/10 where we leak points. In saying that he is a huge part of the squad and makes great metres coming out of our own end.

I think Ronnie does a 2 year deal. Stoney does a one or three year deal and they work out Katoa/Stonestreet.

Ronnie apparently wants to be paid like a top line winger - around the 600k mark. I have no idea what he is on now but from those lists that rank the player wages he seems to be in the 400's. I probably couldn't go higher than say 500 just because of the Tricky upgrade (+375k) and you could probably get Stoney for half of that. The cap pressure is real.

I think the insinuation was that the Sharks are ok with him talking to other clubs. As in... we're in no rush to re-sign?

What the papers do is grasp onto a comment from anywhere and create a story.
In this case it was Michael Chammas on a podcast. He even insuated that the Sharks could be making a play at Paps.
They have to keep the clicks coming in the off season, and anything they can create goes towards that.

If you've noticed how the Sharks have been negotiating, and signing, contracts over the last couple of years, you should know that nothing gets out, in terms of information, until the deal is done.
My suggestion is to only rely on Dave Riccio stories. He is the one who gets the real news.

And even then he only does it close to when the announcement is made. No doubt he knows earlier but knows to keep it quiet

The link of Atkinson to Dragons and for 2025.

Again this is where Fitz will look to get something out of this.
Dragons player back rower played NSW U 18 Halangahu would be a good pick up to put in our systems

What club is going to go sign Kennedy as their starting fullback?
He is on par with a few but not a big enough improvement to warrant a club kicking out their current fullbacks to sign him.
He isn’t versatile where you could put him in the half’s or backline if needed.

Loko Pasifiki Tonga would be the one I'd try and steal. He trains with Gal and is one of the biggest humans you will ever see. Under contract till end of 26.

I can't see us helping the Dragons out and letting him go early unless we get something we really want. They can have him for 26. Personally I'd be sitting him down saying put this all to the side and go take the 1 jersey off WK so you can stay. But even then the $$ would be better at another club. I can't believe someone would break the bank to get him as a half. I really like him but I can't say I see a 500k plus 7 in him especially when Tricky is on 650-675. As mentioned DA has the same manager as Fitz and his personality... I just can't see him kicking up a stink if he secures a good deal for 26 to break his 25 deal. I get the Dragons can throw good coin for 25 but unless we get something out of it there is zero reason to give him up.

Miller, Tracey and now DA. We can certainly find a utility player and flog them off. DA turned up the last week of pre season on minimum wage. Crazy.
