Ah there are some good solid cacks to be had in here… hence we keep coming back. Also expert opinions… on anything.
Funny thing about Hazelton, no doubt Flanno watched the game and upped his $$$ offer.

I’m wondering if Hazo can stand a season of Dragons games. He will help them but I don’t know if Flanno is the coach to bring him on. Could end up another Klemmer.

About 500k too much. He is average at best
I really think that’s a shit take - he offers something different. He’s a different size (and a difficult size to handle), a different style, it means the opposition have to have multiple different tackling/defensive structures to think about, as AFB, Hazo, Cam OK and BHU are all very different sizes, speeds, styles…. Thst variation just makes their job a little more difficult.
Hazo isn’t perfect, but he’s good, he’s a scoring threat, he adds something and has potential to improve further, and I certainly don’t think $500k is overs.

How would assess him over the past season rather than 1 game?

He has issues with agility no doubt but is offering the same value as Toby or BHU who are on more?

like I said, he has shown plenty of glimpses.. needs to find consistency and keep improving. There’s something about him I’m just a bit unsure about some weeks, almost like he’s a little soft. Anyway I’m happy with it. Probably means it’s the end of rudolf or Uele which isn’t a bad thing either.

Fair enough. I tend to agree. He has something different with his size, try scoring and little bit of ball playing. His agility and intent need to improve in defence.

A bit more aggression would be good as well as he has more in him.

Well that's my opinion. Good thing we aren't all the same

I think we're getting value from him at 500K. He has shown he has the ability to be a starter and not let anyone down and definitely seems to be hard to take down even though he doesn't have the leg speed of a AFB or a BHU.

He will be over 100 games at that point and I think he'll have comfortably gone past BHU and Toby.

Some weeks he seems a world beater. Other weeks… seems to forget his size. Definitely brings a unique punch off the bench, but also a lack of lateral defence that needs to be dealt with.

Compared against many bench props, he stacks up well, but he fits a similar mould to many of our players — world beater against the shit teams, meek against the best. The best thing about him re-signing is that Flano missed him.

Yeah 100%….Flanno can lick my nuts. What everyone needs to realise is that Gal was actually captain/coach in 2016. (Self-appointed of course)

AFB - 2028
Hazleton - 2028
Kaufusi - 2027
BHU - 2026
Rudolph - 2026
Hau Tapuha - 2026

You can really see what the clubs plan is and I don't hate it. I really didn't think we would be able to keep Hazo but well done to all. I'm just glad next year AFB, Kaufusi, Tapuha are here and likely one of BHU/Toby. I really think Toby will get the Royce Hunt tap.

Stoney next.

And the thing is now, Props are becoming EXPENSIVE…. We don’t need any for the next few years, whereas everyone else is now going to be clamouring over every half decent prop that comes available, which will drive up their price even more. Great business. Our props and our halves (the expensive positions) are locked and sorted for a few years, and we’re not paying through the nose, whereas elsewhere we can see clubs throwing ridiculous money at average players (Dylan Brown $13m over 10 years, Leo Thompson nearly $1m by all accounts). We’ve done VERY well for ourselves I’d say.
