Southern end white benches top row to the right of the posts as you face the field was my spot in the 80s
Had to go to the fence of the field to check how much time left on the clock.

Seems the blowtorch is being applied to young Brails.

This can only be a good thing.

Yep, it's gonna make or break him. He needs a rocket up his clacker though.

I watched all the Q Cup semis on Kayo and this Berrell was good but saved his worst for the GF. His worst wasn't horrid though, Norths got in WMs faces and Berrell couldn't shine. One thing was obvious, if it moved, he tackled it.

That hooker we got from QLD cup is some scoop. Rodgers being his manager must have helped us but also for him he can back himself to beat Brailey. I watched the QLD cup final and the commentary team kept going on about how he was so far above every player in the comp.

Metcalfe. Whatever. We can afford to let him rot the year out on his development deal. Interesting the warriors have gone so hard for him.

Can’t keep them all. He stood out in that 1 game (against tigers?) but I don’t know if he was going to keep a spot with nicho and tricky so I figure fair enough.

I’ll be very disappointed to lose Metcalf if it happens. From the glimpses we’ve seen (including trials), to me, he seems to have something worth trying to develop.

I can’t blame him for looking for opportunities elsewhere, but the Warriors? f**k me, son. Career suicide.

Name me one player who has kicked on over there?

You would think he would have learned from his Manly tenure. It went nowhere and then he came back.
So maybe he comes back in 2025…

I’m more excited by the players coming our way for next year and beyond than losing Metcalfe. At the end of the day you want guys that want to play for the BWB. Having said that I don’t blame the kid for taking the carrot.

Metcalfe has just taken his first steps on his death march , good luck to him . The warriors have a plan , just that they can't remember where they put it .

Can’t blam the kid only being on a small amount here and given his history with injuries needed to get a deal done ASAP.
Another serious injury before cementing himself would of had him playing park football.
If he stays fit tho the kid will be a star

Best of luck to Metcalfe and I hope he kicks on and gets something of a career. As said, you can’t keep them all and Warriors are always trigger happy with the wallet.
He will either be a genius or a dumb arse.

If Gould or O’Sullivan were still there you’d have some confidence in going over but they’re not there and Brown is still coach.

And he’s still going over. Money must be too good to refuse. Good luck to him. Would have liked him see him back himself this year but if he’s going to the Warriors can’t see the club prioritising him too much

I'll call it now

Metcalf to backflip.

Can we get CHT? never noticed him much but I was watching Top 10 big hits on Kayo for the last 3 years. The kid can whack for a half. He pulled off some bellringers

I’d say play him in the Jets barring injury. Not out of spite but he’s not part of the future here so put the time into Tricky and this new young bloke from the Qld cup. Keep the door open with the Warriors for a player swap though. No point in holding him back if they really want him.

CHT is a bit meh for me , but the bit of wiggle room i will give him is the guys he's been playing alongside and being coached by , could show big improvement with the right coaching and players around him , so maybe at the right price but we have a few halves hanging in behind already , wouldn't be a priority for me .
I mean he has had to play alongside Nikorima , doesn't help your game .

If Metcalf was smart he would have a hidden clause in his deal that if he couldn’t get an early release he could back flip by June 30 etc

Ya gotta take the contracts when they're on offer these days.. but it's a shame.. Trindall, Hynes, Moylan all in front of him this season, and you'd have to think he'd be next in line in 2023. The temptation of a guaranteed starting spot is hard to turn though..

I think it's more the guaranteed money. Can't blame him for being keen to make some money and if the Warriors are throwing any decent money its better than the current unknown position he's in now. Having been not retained at Manly too it's probably making him aware how much you need to make of your opportunities.

Even if we didn't keep Moylan and he was almost a lock for that 14 spot. It doesn't guarantee him anything for 2023. He's got a young family so good on him.

Still think the Warriors is the last team he should go too but it's only 2 years and would be good if the Sharks could offer him a better deal, enough to keep him. I'm not sure if he's a long term option but prefer we find out and not the Warriors.

We also have Rivett who's pretty highly rated.

I thought that CHT was highly regarded too, guess not anymore ?
