With the buy this week I’m expecting a number of players to sort out their future.

Perfect timing as it’s given us enough time to see where things are at.

1M for drinkwater is like $12 for a loaf of bread.
Nobody would pay that but if its the last loaf on the shelf then its worth what someone will pay for it.

It will only get worse.
More teams means more games on Fox each weekend.
Which means a bigger tv deal.

So we will have 20 teams soon. Perth. PNG. Outer Mongolia.
Teams in remote places where the best players will never move to, and these franchises will never win a comp.
Never.
Ever.

Drinkwater has to be offered a Mill to get him to even think of going to that shitshow called The Dargons.
Its not about what he's worth.
Perth would have to offer him more.

Perth are putting together a team of bench players like Wishart and Sifa.
This in turn weakens the benches and depth of the teams they're currently at.

Imagine how good the comp would be with 10 teams. The 10 best fullbacks vying for spots.

But you can't only have 5 games a weekend.

Weird isn’t it - especially when they’ve got the arse with Sloan over his defensive weakness. If you’re going to pay a squillion for Drinky, you might aswell have gone all out on Sloan and given him free reign to play as though it’s touch.

Agree 100%. He looks so fragile when running the ball. Compare and contrast with Adam Douhie, a bloke who really could be forgiven for being worried about getting injured again.

Flanno went for a sugar hit with his purchases. It makes sense to go for high character guys like gutherson, cook etc but the reality is they were cooked before they rocked up. They can only train so hard off the field but it hasn't helped them on it.

Flanno did the same shit when he bought Woods, Dugan, SJ etc here. Players on paper who have a profile and you could I guess make a story to sign but they did not fit or club or culture.

Probably it for him now.
