No. He was on an Under 20's contract with us. When we were in negotiations with him, he hadn't made his first grade debut yet.

I remember figures of around $70k a year were being thrown around, then Manly came and offered something like double what we were, triple maybe. Can't really remember.

Manly were always going to get him. Wise investment, well done.

I remember Manly threw $150k+ at him before his 1st grade debut.
Rumour has it that Hages sat him down and told "look mate, you're too big, too strong, too fast and break too many tackles, sorry but you don't fit into my gameplan"

My point being, that T-Rex would of been contracted to Parra on 100k or thereabouts (your saying 70k.)

He then pisses off to Manly for somewhere in between 150-200k

Now Parra are back trying to sign him again and he will comand around 400k.

4 x the amount he was once on at Parra.

I think the same people are in charge of recruitment at Parra that build motorways in Sydney. Just don't seem to be able to get it right.

No, you're not following. Tony was never on $70K at Parra. That's what we were offering. He was on far less because he was on a Under 20's contract. He was probably on something like $30k

Luck will come as no surprise, Ropati would be interesting, but I'd call that one unlikely unless he fails to come back well from his injury and the Warriors low ball him.

U20's, meh. We've got more than we know what to do with and the best ones are currently locked up for the next couple of seasons at least.
