RABBITOHS GRANT RELEASE TO JUSTIN HUNT
FROM THE FINAL YEAR OF HIS CONTRACT
Dear Gavin,
The South Sydney Rabbitohs have granted a contract release to Justin Hunt after receiving a request to release him from the remaining year of his contract to join the Parramatta Eels from the beginning of season 2014.
Hunt made the request for the release so he could join Parramatta next season on a three-year contract, having made 13 NRL appearances to date after making his first grade debut against the St George Illawarra Dragons in 2012.
Rabbitohs Head Coach Michael Maguire says Hunt will continue to push for a spot in the Rabbitohs backline as the Club works towards its second consecutive finals series.
Hunty has proven that he is an NRL-standard player over the past two years and he came to us explaining he thought he could further his first grade career at Parramatta from next year, Coach Maguire said.
Hes a versatile player who can play anywhere in the backline and he will be a valuable member of our squad for the remainder of this season.
We all wish him the best of luck for next year, but his and our focus remains on giving our all for the rest of this year as we head towards the finals.
