Roby was the English Hooker in 2009 when Moore was the Super League Hooker of the year, so whilst I'd agree Roby is the better player, Moore is/was obviously no slouch.

Yeh woul be a huge miracle but its not that far out of the question

It would be his last contract
Will be looking to be somewhere where he may want to be involved in te NRL post career
Sticky would be a good person for him to launch him into a post career gig in te media if smith wanted it

I'd say his main preference would be to stay in Melbourne but I'd say Brisbane will be his biggest possibility but those above reasons would lay in our favour should we actually go after him

Thing is being an English rep and getting a position of the year over there are totally different things. Miles apart in terms of ability requiring to get a position of the year award than to play for England. Especially when there is a massive gap in player quality over there.

Also, he just turned 30. Now, I'm no mathematician, but I think that means he will turn 32 in 2015.

How do we know he will age well? It's hard enough with your own old players, when you're able to measure their speed, strength, agility, etc. and you know what injuries they're getting.

With an oldie from another club it's a mystery until he turns up for pre-season.

Big Risk IMO, he's played a hell of a lot of footy the last 5 years and knowing Smith he won't be coming cheap. As Pou said he will be 32 when he gets here but he is the best player in the game ATM.

Why would the difference in standard b/w the English No.9 and the SL No.9 of the year, any greater than would be the case if applied the same comparison is Aus? I just don't get your logic. If a bloke is recognised as the best player in a position across an entire season, in the league from which most of the national team are selected, why would he be very different in ability to the national No.9? What relevance has the 'massive gap in player quality over there' but?

It gets better. He's not even off contract until the end of 2014. If he signs with a rival club, the contract won't be registered till this time next year.

To be fair, emjaycee never said the hooker was Cameron Smith...everyone just jumped to that conclusion on the back of the recent media speculation surrounding Smith's contract.

I am feeling adventurous today so I will stick my neck out and make the crazy suggestion that there may just be other hookers off contract at the end of 2014 and of them may just be the chap that emjaycee was referring to.
