Better than he'd go running off Kelly or Roberts, that's for sure. I, too, reckon he'd be worth a shot - but not for elite money. For money commensurate with his form over the last two years, and not a penny more.
Bloody oath mate.

I'm very interested to see what pans out with him.

Yeah but we could also sign a Brassington or Makleim*spelling on minimum wage and they may have plenty more upside than a 75kg fullback who doesn't offer much bar a bit of toe.

Wasn't brassington dropped from the under 20 side this week? Not a good sign for a player in his last year in 20's.

Yes, to be honest, I can't understand why the Panthers bought Soward. Sure he's got a kicking game, but they've now discovered another young five-eight now, and I bet they're having second thoughts.

I bet they're not. They bought him to replace Walsh, and he will do that easily - he is faster and has a bigger boot (and just as accurate). The number on his back (6 or 7) will mean very little, just as it did at St George.

I agree, however the coaching staff are obviously happy retaining Mullaney.

Makelim has another year of NYC eligibility and as Joshuateheel stated, Brasington doesn't, and seems to have been binned.

Tyrone Peachey or Adam Blair ? Which one would you take ?

It's a tough one. I was a massive fan of Blair before he went to the Tigers. He was one of the best forwards in the world. But his attitude seems to be a bit shit, and we seem to be trying to get that out of our club.

Peachey is young and nowhere near as good as Blair at his best, but he (probably) has plenty of improvement in him. Almost certainly has a better attitude too and would have to be a lot cheaper.

Both represent a risk but I would probably go for Peachey. Can we get both of them?

I'd be happy if we could sign a couple of genuine first grade wingers. I have no confidence in any of the wingers we've used this year. Can't defuse a bomb to defend or score a try.

Call me crazy, but I believe wing is the next position we should be strengthening.

I'd take Peachey and Frank Paul Nu'uausala with Kingston at hooker and I think we are done.

I actually think Hoppa will play wing for a majority of the season. In the modern game I think we underestimate the value of a top shelf winger. They probably now touch the ball more times than a centre. Remember before he went on his Malvern Star Hopoate was the best winger in the world.

I agree wing is as important a position as centre (or should be). I don't think a lot of coaches see it that way though.

As for Hopoate playing wing next year, it's one way to fit both Loko and Morgan into the team (I don't think Morgan's go-forward is good enough for the wing). However I don't like Loko's defence at centre, but then where do we play him? Gareth Hock will be one edge forward (probably on the left), plus Kelepi Tanginoa could be a genuine first grader by the end of the year.

Probably a good thing I'm not the coach, hey?

When we signed Hoppa, i was thinking he would be in the centers, but as this season has gone on, i am of the same opinion he will at least start on the wing, due to our obvious lack of decent wingers. Unless we pick one or two up.

Completely agree!

We have been fielding a NSW cup class back line (bar Hayne and Morgan) since grothe, reddy, burt, inu and Tahu left the club!

We are in desperate for a couple of experienced first graders in our back line if we want to be a force next season. Anyone who things guys like Sio, Blair, Toutai etc are up to FG standards are kidding themselves!

Loko pushes into left edge forward when Hock comes off and Terepo goes into lock pushing Mossop into prop! Give us plenty off attacking options in our pack, we have lacked punch off the bench for a few season now, Terepo and Loko give us that punch.
