While confirming Townsend’s signing today, Vodafone Warriors general manager football operations Dean Bell said halfback Harry Siejka had been granted an early release from his contract, effective immediately.

“Harry told us he’s been missing home and wants to return to Sydney,” he said.

“It’s disappointing it hasn’t worked out for him here but he has been a model professional and we’d like to wish him all the best for the future.”
Siejka has been a regular for the Auckland Vulcans in the New South Wales Cup this season

might be worth a shot for depth purposes?

If we win 9 from the last 13 we can make the 8. Why give up and why not increase our chances if a player is available with Soward's experience?

Because he doesn't add anything that we're missing. His best attribute is his kicking game and his speed, and Sandow offers plenty of both already.

Now I understand the natural response is to say we can always use more of both, but under a salary cap that's not necessarily true, and I think Soward would be a waste of money, even for the rest of this year.

If he was driving on a suspended license doesn't that make him a repeat offender ?

No. Your license can be suspended in one go for getting caught speeding 15km+, not wearing your seatbelt whilst talking on a hand held phone during double demerit long weekend.

Maybe a hard working second rower would be handy thou im not sure we need Blair or FPN-There front rowers right?

The thing that makes Blair great (back when he was great, less than two years ago) is that he could play on the edge or in the middle with equal aplomb. Gallen and Thaiday are the only other players in the game that fit that bill.

Blair carved us up on the right edge in the 2009 grand final. I reckon he's worth the risk. Maybe.

How do you think he would go running off Norman, Pou?

Mullaney is a reserve grader, surely we have someone better than him coming through the grades???

If you want to fill your squad whilst remaining under the cap then every club needs reserve graders.

Besides, Hopoate will probably be backup fullback next year. Mullaney will (probably) be our third choice.

I'd say if we're looking to retain Mullaney it's because he'll accept minimum salary.

Aside from the fact that Hock will almost certainly be running off Norman on the left, I think Blair would potentially be awesome running off any merkin.

He's already proven how good he can be. But then again, so has Ben Roberts, and I doubt many clubs are willing to throw big bucks at that merkin for next year.

I assume Gronk's point is that you can lose your licence from accumulating too many demerit points which is different from an automatic suspension where your licence is taken from you on the spot. You can also have your licence suspended for failing to pay a fine so there's no evidence he's a repeat offender when it comes to driving convictions.
