I don't know about that ram but he's ahead of him in his development, no question there... I saw the kid play a few weeks ago against wenty and whilst he's a very crafty player from dummy half he has some deficiencies in defense that need addressing, he got his head in the way of Taulima and KO'd himself...

Stagger you obviously have seen much more than me in regards to Kaysa playing, but I have seen a bit of Apisai and he almost always impresses me. But on the very few occasions that I have seen Kaysa play, yes he tackles well, but so does MK, and yes his passing is better then MK's for sure, but whos isn't? But other then that I haven't noticed Kaysa do anything that impressive...YET.

But like I said, I haven't seen all that much of him at all, but he really does need a year or two to really develop, whereas Apisai is really ready now. He just needs to be given a chance to play NRL and see what he can do.

kaysa only played 15 mins or something in one game ..... i thought it was impressive he stopped at least one big boppa in their tracks

and i have reservations judging any NYC player by their play in that competition - cos defense is a joke (but hey maybe thats the way the top grade will head???)

Ram, I think the 20 to 25% chance rate of success is a little low given the sort of investment we've made on the kid, he's 12 to 18 months ahead of his development and is at an age where the improvement will be noticeable by march next year with the experience of same game time this year and another off season with the full time squad under his belt, I think you said it yourself, he's got some qualities in his game that the coaching staff can build on.

Fair enough Staggs, I hope the kid does live up to the faith the staff have put in him. Like I said, he looks ok to me...but I just haven't seen enough of him to really make a proper assessment of him, but I just think he is very small and that as we know is a huge liability \to most in the NRL. But you're right, it's early days yet for the kid.

But I really, realy hope we can attract a player like Apisai, he to me is the complete package at dummy half, and yes sometimes he can stuff up in defense, but that is not due to lake of trying, but more technique, so it is very fixable.

That's because you don't have an 'academy'.

The whole point of the f**king thing is to identify future NRL players (and sign them) before the rest of the clubs get a chance to push his price up (remember T-Rex?). That means he needs to be identified before he is playing NRL or starring in NYC.

That's why I laugh - Ha! - whenever merkins go on about "We should be buying the best players from NYC!!!" Because those kid were either all signed up long ago (Tanginoa), or they're holding out for fat NRL contracts (Dave Klemmer).

Good point about the under-20's - they don't really understand the meaning of "defence".

i don't think stagger aligns himself with any particular boards - he gets in tight with all of em - lol

Well unlike yourself Stagger supports our club by not only going to home and away games but also watching the juniors and Jim Beam cup matches as well. This is why he has a good rapport with officials.Where as people like you just sit at home and post dribble.
