NRL 360 have predicted that we will finish last and get consecutive spoons. If this happens it could send me over the edge.

Alot will depend on when the Tigers get some of these injured players back, but I think what I have seen the last couple of weeks we wont be far away from the spoon.

At this stage it does appear the only chance we have of avoiding the spoon again this year, will be if somehow, someone else manages to go crapper than us.

What happened to the top eight that was assured when Ricky took over. This year was always going to be based around sorting out the mess. Sure we are getting busted. It sucks but we are building by introducing youngsters into first grade and a chasing new players. I hope we don't get it but really at the end of the day I can see a future ahead if the new board ride it out.

I don't understand how anyone didn't expect this after last year. Aside from signing Lussick our recruitment last year was awful so our roster continues to be mediocre.

Keep blaming the roster.

We won by 30 points in round one and have only had a couple of halves of footy where we haven't been competitive:

1st half vs the Tigers
Both halves vs the Chooks
2nd half vs the Titans
Both halves vs the Panthers
1st half vs the Dragons
2nd half vs the Titans (again)

That's only eight halves of footy in eleven games. That leaves another 14 halves of footy (seven whole games) where we've been in it right up to the whistle.

They have the ability to compete; it's just a matter of staying committed. When that happens you are always a chance to jag a win, as we did vs the Sharks and the Broncos.

There's no reason we should be a foregone conclusion for the spoon, barring a few key injuries (e.g. Hayne, Tonga, Loko last year).

we have done a good job unearthing some young forwards and improving our spine but our back line is a shambles! i dont think we have a player in our top 25 who is a winger's ars3h0le!

Sio goes alright. He was one of our best players last year.

I think people are confusing him with Vai Toutai who probably never played wing in his life before last year.

It would be awesome to get Willie Tonga back, but our biggest problem in the backline at the moment (besides Vai Toutai not having a clue in defence) is our right edge forward. With Tanginoa injured our entire right side is f**ked.

Why not? You did that all last season to defend Kearney.

I blamed injuries last year. The roster was fine - a solid mid-table squad.

However when ten or more clubs have mid-table squads (and none any worse than that) then someone has to come last and that comes down to injuries.

Our 2011 roster, on the other hand, was atrocious - much worse than our current squad. And they managed to compete nearly every week.

Given next week we take on the roosters again, and with a potentially weaker team than the last time, anyone game enough to guess the outcome (realistically)???

Surely the home ground advantage will help us out, but I can't see us getting within 30 points of them. Hopefully the QLD forwards will dominate Maloney & Pearce and they will be unable to back up 48hrs later. Hopefully Hayne is spared though, otherwise we're screwed!
