What a tool, Luai is many things, but a liability is not one of them, if anyone knows penrith, they know his defence is top notch in comparison to any of the halves in the game, basically every other clubs weaknesses are those generals in the defensive line..we have the luxury of not just Romy, but nathan aswell both excellent in D...

Rewatch any samoa games, and all his reserve grade games, he has been a halfback his whole life, the only reason he is in at 5/8th parked on one side is coz nathans there

playing outside one of the greatest half back ever with little pressure to being the main guy

when he went off in the grand final and all the pressure was on Cleary to win it he did

luai is a great foil with Cleary without him he’s nowhere near as good

the panthers have a better record with luai and no cleary, then cleary and no luai

its all hypothetical however imo luai 100% makes us a finals contender. we have a good pack, arguably the best 9 in the comp and a brilliant young fullback. last year we were in the top 2 for meters gained and opposition 20 tackles yet had the worst attack in the league. our entire issue was our diabolical halves pairing not being able to do shit with great field position. our game v parra we had the most meters gained for a losing team in NRL history!

agree with the coaching issue though, i find it hard to see benji being anything other then a disasture. my hope is we bring bennett on in 2025.

People let the media driven "Luai's a flog" routine cloud what they see him do on the field (and off it which will be huge for the Tigers).

Eg. When he ripped WGDP a new one straight after full time earlier this year, he was belted by the media.

If lets say Sam Walker did the same thing the media would be rubbing themselves raw about his passion and that he is following the Roosters way and Robbo is a genius for instilling that accountability in him blah blah f**kin' blah.
